CREATING LABELS

In the map we can label the locations using this function.

First right click on a layer and go to properties. And in the dialog box opened go to labels. Then we
have to tick the box saying Label features in this layer and we can choose the label field and apply
the labels.
By going to placement property we can remove the duplicate labels, adjust the orientation of the text.

Summarizing

To open attributes table right click on the required layer and open attribute table.
Basic statistics

In the attribute table right click on field and go to statistics

In the window opening, we can change the field and it will give us the frequency distribution
SELECT BY ATTRIBUTES / ATTRIBUTE QUARRIES

For this option click on table option and select select by attributes
We can type the quarry in the given space as we wanted using the functions provided

Can select the method from

Create a new selection
Add to current selection
Remove from current
selection
Select from current selection

Type the quarry

For example I selected males >= females and the results were highlighted on attribute tables and
on the map
GRAPH

Graphs can be created by attributes table and also from the menu bar.

From attribute tables

Open the attribute table. And from table option go to create graphs
In the window opening we can customize the graphs we wanted

Finally the graph will appear in a new window

To make final changes in the graph right click on the graph and go to advance option

In the window opening, we can edit the format of the chart

Graph can be added to layout by right click on the graph and click add to layout
From graph menu

We can create graphs by going to view > Graphs > Create graphs

The above discussed properties can be changed through this also.

MULTI FIELD GRAPHS

Different field data can be expressed in one graph in this option. First create the dialog box an
customize the data in first field. And by clicking add (add new series) we can add different fields

Select show only selected features/ records on the graph option

We can add to layer by right clicking on the graph and select add to layer like in previous or by
selecting copy as a graphic and finally copy and paste in the layer option
CALCULATIONS

ADD FIELD

Click on the table option in attribute table and select add field

GEOMATRIC CALCULATION

In this option we can calculate the geometric values like area, length, coordinates etc.

First go to attribute table and right click on table option and add required field.

Then right click on the field like previous example in field calculation and select calculate geometry.
Similar perimeter, x coordinate of centroid, y coordinate of centroid can be calculated by selecting the
suitable property.

The above method can be adopted to calculate length, coordinates of point etc
REPORTS

Reports can be made by going from view >reports > create reports
