Day
Dear Parents,
You may use the saint information sheets I gave you along with
any other research you do on your own to complete your report.
Students should practice reading their reports at home with you! If
you have any questions, please contact me. Have fun with this
assignment.
Love,
Mrs. Radcliffe
All Saints Day
The second grade has traditionally planned the mass for All Saints
Day, which the school will celebrate this year on Tuesday, November 1. Part
of this mass includes singing the Litany of the Saints, during which time we
have a procession of saints. While each child has signed up as a saint and
needs to do a firsthand report of the saint. Children were taught about
various saints and chose saints in class. I will send home an information
sheet about that saint.
Over the years, Mrs. Smith assembled a box of suitable robes, costumes,
etc. to be used each year for this mass. I will have this box of costumes in
the classroom, and you are welcome to come in and borrow anything that you
need, or you may come up with your own costume. I will help the students
pick out their costumes during school and you will be able to come in and
look at them next week! Some of the costumes are pretty generic, and can
be adapted for another saint. If you choose a saint not in the costume box,
you may need to put together a costume.
Thanks,
Miss Williams
Please fill out the bottom of this form and send it in with your child. Saints will be
picked on a first come first serve basis, but I will try to make sure that each students gets
one of their top three. Each year, we have four very important saints: Holy Mary, St.
James, St. John Eudes and St. Leo. If you would like to fill one of these roles, please
place it on your list below:
