positivos.

SUMMARY
The surgical technique consists of the insertion in the duodenum of simple, T cannula,
aproximately 10 cm after the pancreatic and bile conducts. The position of the fistula is in
the abdominal region of the pig, five cm from floating ribs and parallel to them. Time
elapsed during the implantation is 1.0-1.5 hours from the anaesthesia induction to skin
suture. The simple T cannula employed in the Institute are made from plastic (acrylic)
material and have a length and internal diameter of 4.4 and 1.8 mm respectively. The
implantation of the cannula has been made in pigs weighing from 25 to 35 kg. Pre- and
post-surgical periods are of 24 hours and seven days respectively. The pre-surgical
period allows the evacuation of residues of gastric content and its elimination in the small
intestine, whereas the post-surgical period warrants the observation of the animals and
cannula adaptability
Pigs fitted with a simple T cannula in the duodenum have been used in studies of
digestion of tropical feeds conducted with the nylon bag technique..

1980; Livingstone 1981; Bjrhang y Janssen 1984; Graham y Aman 1986).
MATERIALES Y METODOS
Procedimiento
As se facilita, adems,
