Unit Organizer an activity where students will complete a skeleton and map concept for
the unit. This is done at the beginning of each new Unit. It helps to reinforce and create
schema for students to connect information within a unit.
Assessment a day where students are accessed on the Unit indicated. It may change based
on how well students are performing on exit tickets. Delayed testing is a new strategy I am
trying this year in order to increase the amount of long term retention my students have of
information.
Cross-Curricular Activity an activity that requires a student to apply their mathematics
learning to a subject outside of math.
Flex/Review Day a flexible day that can be used for remediation on multiple standards
depending on objective check data. A review day is a day where we recap the unit and draw
bigger connections, typically through the use of a collaborative group activity.
Investigation/Task an Inquiry-based task that focuses on enhancing students problem
solving and writing skills.
ACT Prep day where focus on do nows and exit tickets is around ACT problems.
NCFE A lesson where focus of problems are on released North Carolina Final Exam
questions
