1 General
1.1 Purpose
The operating software of Transafe ADW 511 contains fixed basic settings for various applications. These
can be individually selected by means of a program selector switch so that most applications are thus
generally covered.
In applications where there may be extreme ambient conditions or different response behaviour is re-
quired, the Transafe ADW 511 can be programmed in a customer-specific manner with the aid of the PC
programming software.
All necessary operating parameters of the ADW 511 are programmable on the PC and can be transmitted
to the ADW. It is also possible to load standard configurations and transmit them to the ADW 511. The
projects (data) generated can be saved as a file with a recognizable name (e.g. system number). With the
PC Tool, it is also possible to perform tests, recordings and long-term data acquisition and to document all
data generated (measured data and programming data).
This documentation describes the handling of this PC program.

bmp 24

The system parameters are divided into "Test criteria" and "Trigger criteria".

6.3.3.1 Test criteria

The test criteria are critical for triggering faults in the ADW 511.
Criterion Function Settable
range
Test interval in hours Determines the time intervals in which the 1 / 2 / 4 / 8 h
ADW 511 performs an automatic leak test (test
procedure).
Test sensitivity controls Determines the degree of sensitivity to the Low (insensitive)
triggering of a fault (deviation of measured test Medium
pressure from reference pressure of original High
reset).

6.3.3.2 Trigger criteria

The trigger criteria are critical for triggering alarms in the ADW 511.
Criterion Function Settable
range
Tau in seconds Time window which determines how long a 0 to 20 s
pressure value must be above defined trigger-
ing threshold before an alarm is triggered. Tau
acts only on the gradient.
Maximum pressure in mbar Triggering threshold for the maximum alarm 0 to 200 mbar
(effective pressure value).
Gradient in mbar/min Triggering threshold for the differential alarm 0 to 40 mbar/min
(pressure increase per unit time)

6.3.4 Relais allocation,

The allocation of the trigger criteria to the relays of the ADW 511 is fixed. The relay allocation can be
changed only by the manufacturer.

6.4.5 System test

When "ADW511" > "System test" is selected, the
ADW 511 starts a test procedure (leak test). The test
motor in the ADW 511 generates a pressure in-
crease in the entire pneumatic loop. The measured
values are entered continuously in the fields "Cur-
rent", "Max." and "Min.". A pressure curve is also
displayed.
Depending on the result, the following window ap-
bmp 32 pears after the end of the procedure.

bmp 33 bmp 34

In the field "Results of measurement", the positive and negative pressure components of the test per-
formed and the positive and negative pressure components of the original reset (commissioning) appear.
A comparison of the values takes place in the ADW 511. The result is shown in the field "Error evalua-
tion".
With a correct run (no leak, no crushing of the sensor tube), the message "No errors found" appears in
the field "Error evaluation".
If, for example, a leak is found in the sensor tube, a message "[1] Pressure too low (leak)" "[2] Positive-
negative ratio not OK" appears in the field "Error evaluation".
Depending on the result, the ADW 511 remains in the standby state or triggers a fault.

7 Reprogramming ADW 511

7.1 General
The procedure for any required customer-specific programming of the ADW 511 is explained below. It is
possible to adopt three approaches:
1 Defining the system parameters on the PC and then sending them to one of the free selector switch
positions 8 or 9 on the ADW 511 (see Section 7.2).
2 Loading a selector switch position (1 - 7) with fixed parameters from the ADW 511 to the PC, modi-
fying the system parameters on the PC and then sending them to one of the free selector switch po-
sitions 8 or 9 on the ADW 511 (see Section 7.3).
3 Opening a previously defined project on the PC (with defined project data and system parameters)
and then sending it to one of the free selector switch positions 8 or 9 on the ADW 511. This method
is recommended if several ADW 511 are to be equipped with identical customer-specific program-
ming in a system (see Section 7.4).

7.2 Changing by redefining the system parameters on the PC

The system parameters are defined on the PC (incl. project data). The data are then sent to one of the
free selector switch positions 8 or 9 on the ADW 511.

7.2.1 Procedure
1. Establish a connection from the PC to the ADW 511 and start the PC program according to Section 4.
The ADW 511 must be switched on (FAS zone on).
2. Select "Project" > "New" ( button).
3. Select "Edit" > "System Parameter" ( button).
