Task 1(a):
As a marketing major I would use the LEFT() function when looking at a large amount
of sales data that are listed as entries that contain 3 different parts of information, such
as product code, price code and customer code. Instead of rewriting the first 3 letters to
record product code you can use the LEFT() function in Excel to record the left most
three letters.
Task 1(b):
As a marketing major I would use the MID() function when looking at a large amount of
sales data that are listed as entries that contain 3 different parts of information, such as
product code, price code and customer code. Instead of rewriting the first 3 letters to
record price code you can use the MID() function in Excel to record the middle most
three letters.

Task 3(a):
Data validation rules are very important because without them then it would be so easy
to record or use invalid data and therefore making the project or report made using the
invalid data would be useless. I know this because when complete task 2 the data
changed drastically when I altered one thing during the data validation process.
