a. The BJMP National Office shall gather all Command Group, Directors of
Directorates, Chiefs of Offices (NHQ), and the Regional Directors to
formally discuss the BJMP Code of Ethical Standards and Customs and
Traditions, hereinafter referred to as the "Code".
c. The Warden shall gather all his/her personnel in the most convenient
manner without sacrificing jail security and other functions. Everybody
has to sign his/her name in a provided attendance sheet and ensure 100%
attendance of personnel.
d. The Warden shall consolidate all reactions of his personnel and submit it
to the Office of the Provincial Administrator (PA).
i. The Pledge of Commitment will serve as the document which will prove
that all BJMP personnel, uniformed or not, have signified their willingness
to adhere to the "Code" and the "Customs and Traditions".

DECLARATION OF PURPOSE

SCOPE
This BJMP Code of Ethical Standards and Customs and Traditions for BJMP
Personnel shall be the guide and parameter of every BJMP personnel, uniformed
or non-uniformed, in the conduct of one's official duties and dealings with the
public. It shall likewise serve as a criteria of one's official duties and dealings with
the public. It shall likewise serve as a criteria of one's personal life while in the
government service.
RULE III
CORE VALUES
2.1. I believe in God. The Supreme Being. a Great Provider. and the
Creator of all humankind. I can do no less than love Him above all, seek His
guidance in the performance of my sworn duties and honor Him at all times.
2.3. I believe in selfless love and service to people. Towards this end,
I commit myself to the service of my fellowmen over and above my personal
convenience.
3.1. BJMP Image - The image of any organization affects the esprit
de' corps, morale and welfare of its members and their sense of pride. Therefore,
all members of the BJMP should conduct themselves in a manner that would not
place the BJMP in a bad light, live in accordance with Code's core values and
possess virtues of honor, integrity, valor, justice, humiUty, charity and loyalty to
the jail service.
3.8. Human Rights - All BJMP members must respect and protect
human dignity, inalienable rights of a person to life, liberty and property.

OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT
The BJMP personnel should be aware that a day's working time consists of
eight (8) hours but is also cognizant of the fact that due to the nature of his
duties, his actual working hours may be required at any period of the day or night.
Furthermore, a BJMP personnel is willing to render more than eight (8) hours
work in exigency of the service without thought of additional remuneration. In
view of the foregoing, the BJMP personnel cannot accept outside regular
employment, except when the services are occasional, allowed by law, and not
inconsistent with one's duties and responsibilities as a BJMP personnel.

6.1. VISITING THE SICK - BJMP members who are sick in the
hospital, their residence or any place or confinement are visited by their
immediate chief or other available officers of the unit in order that their needs
are attended to.
RULE X
PLEDGE OF A BJMP PERSONNEL
GENERAL PROVISIONS
2.1. All BJMP members shall take upon themselves that the
intent and spirit of this Code are honoured and upheld at all times.
2.4. All members of the BJMP shall take an oath that they shall
commit themselves to this Code. The oath of commitment shall be done upon
entry into the BJMP, upon promotion to the next higher rank and upon
assumption of office/position.
3.1. All BJMP members shall upon entry into the jail services be
issued a copy of this Code which shall be considered an accountable property.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
2.1. All BJMP members shall take upon themselves that the
intent and spirit of this Code are honoured and upheld at all times.
2.4. All members of the BJMP shall take an oath that they shall
commit themselves to this Code. The oath of commitment shall be done upon
entry into the BJMP, upon promotion to the next higher rank and upon
assumption of office/position.
3.1. All BJMP members shall upon entry into the jail services be
issued a copy of this Code which shall be considered an accountable property.
3.4. This Code shall be subject to reView initially three (3) years
after its effectivity and every five (5) years thereafter, or sooner if the need arises,
for possible revision and/or modification of its implementation strategy.
Section 9. EFFECTIVITY - This Code shall take effect after' the validation
by a simple majority of the members of the BJMP in a census to be taken for the
purpose and confirmed by the Ombudsman.
