Maintenance Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title Job Scope

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for


leading the coordination of all maintenance activities
required in the Department. Working under broad
MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR guidelines, the Maintenance Coordinator ensures
Utilities adequate and timely maintenance is undertaken
leading to high equipment reliability and operational
availability. The Maintenance Coordinator is a key
member of the operations team and works closely
and collaboratively with management, maintenance,
operations and maintenance coordinators from other
departments.

This is primarily a day work position but the


incumbent may be required to work on weekend duty
or public holidays depending on the business needs.

Reporting Relationship: Location


Upper: Operations Manager, Utilities
Functional: Maintenance Superintendent, Utilities Toamasina

Context of the position

Coordination of all maintenance work in their area of responsibility to maximize production and minimize
down time.
Main Duties
Responsibilities Activities / Frequency if significant

1. Coordinate all maintenance work to Create all maintenance work requests


ensure maximum productivity. required for work in the Utilities area
Ensure resources are available from
Operations, Services and contractors to
support the maintenance activities
Attend regular meetings with Maintenance
and Operations staff to ensure
prioritization of work is maintained
Understand and comply with company
policies, practices and procedures
Maintain shutdown activities list in
conjunction with the shutdown planner.
Review prioritization with Operations
Review scheduling with Maintenance
planners

2. Coordinate all required shutdown activities Participate in and ensure that all Safety
and Environment activities are completed
as required
Participate in and assist in incident
investigations and reviews as required

3. Promote safe work environment Coordinate with Maintenance planners to


review activities, performance and costs

Candidate profile
Competencies: Generic and technical
- Good communication skills (Fluent in French and English)
- A Strong background in equipment operation and maintenance, planning and job execution
- Able to promote safe work habits and behaviors
- Good planning and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient with all standard office software, exposure to work order management and planning
systems
- Mobility, fitness and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplined team in a plant environment
Experience: level, field, duration
- 3 to 5 years experience in an industrial environment;
- Permit to work background would be an asset
- Prior experience in a similar position would be an asset
Qualifications: education, additional training
- Bacc+2 or Bacc+3 or equivalent.
