HOW TO CRACK GATE???

Conducted & Controlled Jointly by IISC and IITs
GATE is an Online Computer Based Test(CBT) conducted every year in the month of
January/ February
A candidate is allowed to appear in ONLY ONE of the 23 papers
No restriction on the number of attempts
There is no upper age limit
GATE score valid for THREE YEARS from the date of announcement of the results
Candidate have to apply ONLINE through GOAPS.

Bachelor's of degree holders in engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and
those who are in the final year of such a programmes
Degree holders in integrated Master's degree program or dual degree program in Engineering/
Technology (5 year program) and those who are in 4th/5th year of such a programmes
Master's degree in any branch of science/ mathematics/ statistics/ computer applications or
equivalent and those who are in the final year of such a programmes

IISC,IIT,NIT's and other reputed educational institute accept GATE score for M.E/ M.Tech/ M.S/
Ph.D programmes.
These institutes provide a stipend of Rs. 12,400/- per month for ME/ M.Tech and Rs. 28,000/-
per month for Ph.D.

Ans: 56-65 marks enough to get in to IIT's

then how score that..........
my suggestion is concentrate on Engineering
Maths=(13-15 marks) + General Aptitude=15
Marks, Networks+signals and systems=20 Marks,
Control systems=6-8 marks,then analog and digital electronics,power systems+machines+power

Ans: up to now GATE qualification marks 26.5 for General category
Maths(15)+General Aptitude(15) enough.........

GATE Standard TEXT BOOKS (EE)

1. Electrical Machinery by P.S Bhimbra:

This book contains in depth explanations of the core concepts you need to know for the exam. It also contains questions from previous
GATE examinations which gives readers an idea about the question types. This book may not suit the beginners as the language can
be intimidating. But the book is quite popular among GATE aspirants.

2. Signals and Systems 2nd Edition by Alan V. Oppenheim, Allan S. Willsky, S. Hamid Nawab:
This book provides the basics for Signals and Systems. It may feel tedious to go through the book, but all theory and basics required
for revision are included. The concepts are well defined and the exercises after each chapter help you master those concepts. The
solution manual is also available online.

3. Control Systems Engineering 6th Edition by Norman S. Nise:

Simple illustrations with various real life example are presented . All concepts are described well. This book is ideal for the beginners in
control system. It is very suitable and reliable for GATE and other competitive exams.

4.A Course in Electrical and Electronic Measurements and Instrumentation by A. K. Sawhney:

This is a self sufficient book in the field of measurement. It contains detailed theory covering all of the syllabus. Solved examples are
also given to illustrate the theoretical concepts.

5. GATE Latest year Electrical Engineering latest'th Edition:

This book contains a series of questions and solved examples to help you polish your strengths and work on your weaknesses. The
free DVD with the book includes good quality video lectures.

6.Electronic Devices & Circuits Theory 10th Edition by Robert L. Boylestad, Louis Nashelsky:
This is the perfect book for the beginners to analog electronics. Very simple representation of concepts is the main feature of the book.
Also, numericals are provided where needed to enhance the understanding of the concepts.

7. Power Electronics by P.S Bhimbra:

Contains detailed theory supplemented with sufficient solved examples. The book is perfect for beginners. Various concepts are
illustrated in a very lucid manner and with appropriate diagrams. Lots of multiple choice questions are given at the end of the book
which is helpful for the preparation of competitive exams.

8. Engineering Electromagnetics 7th Edition by W H Hayt, J A Buck:

This book is a must for GATE aspirants; it covers all the topics with suitable examples and good questions to help improve your
knowledge and clarify the basics.

9.Circuit Theory : Analysis and Synthesis (English) 6th Edition by A Chakraborty:Lots of solved examples is the main feature of
the book. This helps in understanding the concepts of basic circuit analysis which is necessary for all competitive exams. Various
methods of solving critical circuitry is well explained. The required theory is also presented in a very understandable way.

10.Higher Engineering Mathematics (English) 43rd Edition by B S Grewal:This is the only book you will need for engineering
mathematics. All required theories are provided with sufficient explanations. High quality solved examples in the book help students
understand the concepts properly. It is one of the most important books for the preparation of GATE.

11. An Integrated Course in Electrical Engineering by J.B. Guptha

his is the perfect bit-bank for the beginners to electrical engineering, This book contains 15000+ bits from all over electrical subjects at
one place. it also gives the brief introduction about concepts. Every electrical engineer must follow the bit bank.
