Operational Flow Description

Case 1. Normal start sequence

1) To make a FGC ready to start, following
UCP
conditions shall be satisfied.
Power On
- Common shutdown signal is off.
- Main motor is stopped completely.
Stop Status - Oil supply temp. is higher than 30.
- Emergency stop signal is off.
- Stop signal is off.
- ITV position is less than 10% open.
Inlet block valve closes - RCV position is less than 40% close.
Outlet block valve closes No
- No Start-Up Fault alarm
- Differential pressure between the suction
pressure and discharge pressure is lower than
0.25barG.
Ready to Start?1)
- Oil reservoir level is higher than 69 %.
- No critical sensor fault
Yes - Control target available
- Anti-surge control available
Warm stand-by 3) Ready Status - Seal separation gas pressure is higher than 1.5
barG.
No Stop AOP - Seal vent pressure is lower than 0.07 barG.
- FGC start permissive from BOP
FGC - Inlet pressure is lower than 11barG and higher
Start Command? than 7barG

2) Start-up fault alarm

Yes - If the oil supply pressure can not meet 1.6barG
within predefined time after the start command
Start-Up Fault Alarm2) has been asserted, the Start-up fault alarm
Start AOP is generated and the start-up sequence is
terminated.
- If there are any problems regarding AOP, lube
system, the Start-up fault alarm can be
generated.

3) Warm stand-by
Oil Supply Press.
No - Warm stand-by means that FGC stands with

ready to start.
- Operator can start FGC Immediately If needed.

4) Unload status(Hot stand-by)

Yes - Hot stand-by means that FGC is running at
unloading status.
- FGC can be loaded immediately if needed.
Main Motor Start Signal - Main motor speed reached 100% RPM.
From PLC to MCC - Closed loop controls of ITV and RCV are not
activated.
- Inlet pressure is higher than 16.5barG

5) Load status
Main Motor - Closed loop controls of ITV and RCV are
activated.
Acceleration for 30 sec - Discharge pressure is regulated at set value.

6) Recycle mode
- Compressor is load status, but whole fuel gas is
Unload Status recycled through RCV.
Hot stand-by 4) - In case of GT is not running or PRS pressure is

higher than FGC discharge pressure.
- Fuel gas is available with no delay.

Inlet block valve opens

Note
1) It is assumed that volume between FGC and GT is already
charged more than inlet pressure.
Autoload
2) Operating time can be changed during commissioning.

4) ITV Feedback control initiation
- If the difference between the compressor

> Set point(28 barG) 1bar 1bar(typically), the ITV becomes feedback-
controlled to maintain the compressor
discharge pressure to set point(30barG).
