of A Reformation Commemoration Service
on Sunday, October 29, with seating open
in St. John's sanctuary starting at 1:30 PM.
Holy Communion will be included as a part
of St. John's Livestreaming of the Worship
Service.

BENEFACTION BOARD
Every year Mercy Meals of Norfolk has a
packing event that involves volunteers from Norfolk
and a wide area surrounding Norfolk. Our goal is to
pack a large amount of meals that will be shipped
around the world and within our own country to
combat malnutrition. This involves a huge
investment with the purchase of all the materials
needed to pack thousands of meals.
We are so thankful for generous donors such as
St. Johns Benefaction Board who gave Mercy Meals
$3000 for the purchase of these supplies. This
donation helped purchase enough supplies to pack
25,000 meals.
Many thanks in fighting world hunger.
MERCY MEALS OF NORFOLK
 LOOKING FOR A DRIVER
A female member of our congregation has
recently had foot surgery and cannot
drive for 6 months. Follow-up
appointments are in Fremont each Friday
@ 9:30 am for approx. 6 weeks. We are
looking for volunteers to drive roundtrip
to Fremont each Friday. If you could
help with one or several trips, please
contact the office at 402-371-1985.
INGATHERING FOR
LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF
It is time again for the annual Ingathering,
scheduled this year from November 6-9. We
are looking for helpers -- some lifting will be
required. Please sign up on todays
Registration Slip if you would be available to
help, and note morning or afternoon hours.

Stewardship meals are being planned for
November 18-19, following the Saturday
evening worship (chicken & broccoli
casserole) and @ noon on Sunday
(breakfast casserole). Meals are being
catered by First Choice Catering. If you
plan to attend this meal, please mark
todays Registration Slip indicating the
number attending and which day you will
attend (Saturday or Sunday).
Please consider sharing your talents by
participating as a member of: St. Johns Church
Council, a member of the Benefaction Board or
as a representative of our congregation at the
Synod Assembly. Church Council duties include
attending monthly meetings, getting to know
the congregation through being Council
Member of the Weekend, assist with church
gatherings, being a liaison for a Ministry
Leadership Team, and attending any specially
called council meetings. Benefaction Board
members meet on a quarterly basis during the
year and review presentations on the spending
of outreach dollars citywide, state wide and
country wide. Representatives to the Nebraska
Synod Assembly from St. Johns will travel to
Kearney May 31 June 1, 2018 to represent our
congregation. A planning meeting is also held
on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Check the
registration slip in this weeks bulletin or visit
with Pastor Myron for more information!
