STARTING DBASE III PLUS
OBJECTIVES *
1. *Run DBase II Plus

2.1 LOADING DBase Ill PLUS SYSTEM ON A FLOPPY
DISK SYSTEM
Boot your system using valid DOS (see Introduction), when A prompt
appears (A:\> or A>) insert system 1 in drive A and data disk in drive B and
follow steps below.
1. AA\>DBase press key
After a delay, this will prompt you on your screen.

your screen which goes like this:

2.4 SETTING DEFAULT TO DATA DRIVE
Most of the DBase users use drive B as their data drive for those who
are using floppy disk drive. And to set that drive for data, they type this
command from the dot prompt,
SET DEFAULT TO B followed by ENTER key

2.5 QUITTING FROM THE SYSTEM
Exiting from the System
If you want to have a break, that is, exiting from the system, DO NOT
TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER without exiting DBase system. You may
destroy your files if you do this.
The QUIT command from the dot prompt will help you. So from the dot
Prompt type
QUIT
and this will prompt on your screen:

key, this is done so that all created files will be saved on default
drive B.

‘You will notice that the default drive on status line will be changed
from drive A to drive B after pressing key. A
database filename should not exceed 8 characters and extension of
-DBF will automatically be created.
