WATER SUPPLY SCHEME WITH H.N.S.S CANAL AS SOURCE

INTRODUCTION :-

Madanapalli Water Supply scheme with HNSS canal as source is taken

up and completed and the details are hereunder.

1. The Government have accorded Administrative sanction vide G.O.Rt.No.

838 MA & UD (A1) Dept., Dated: 9-6-2008 for Rs. 6200.00 lakhs
2. Technical sanction accorded by the Engineer-in-Chief (PH) Hyderabad vide
ENC (PH) R.No. 104/2008-09 Dated: 26-8-2008 for Rs. 6200.00 lakhs.
3. Superintending Engineer (PH) Nellore Agreement No. 42/2008-09 Dated:
26-2-2009.
4. Name of the Agency completed the work M/s Megha Engineering &
Infrastructure Ltd., Hyderabad.

Details of Components completed:

a) Construction of 2 Nos. of 10 MLD Filtration Plant @ (1) Chippili and (2)

Guttakindavari palli completed.

b) Clear water sumps 2 Nos. completed.

c) Clear water gravity main from Two filtration palnts to ELSR complted.
d) Two Nos. of 500 KLELSRs at Prask and Weekly market completed.
e) Nearly 113.00 KM of distribution net work completed
f) Raw water pumping mains from Chippili filtration plant to near Milk depot
g) Raw water pumping mains from Guttakindavari palli 10 MLD filtration
plant to near SS tank
h) Testing of the above distribution net work and all pumping mains, gravity
mains etc.,

During execution of water supply scheme the HNSS canal scheme was
not completed and the location of Summer storage tanks were not yet
finalized.

Further it is submitted that due to non completion of the HNSS

scheme, the following components of the Madanapalli water supply scheme
were not taken up.
1) Construction of intake well at Guttakindavari palli and Chippili
2) Supply, delivery and erection of vertical turbine pumpets at Guttakinda
varipalli and Chippili intake well sites.
3) Supply, delivery, laying, jointing and testing of 500 mm dia MS pumping
mains from stopped point to proposed intake wells at Guttakindavari palli
and Chippili.
4) Supply, delivery and errection of transformers to Guttakindavari palli and
Chippili
5) Construction of Watchman quarters to Guttakindavari palli and Chippili

Further it is submitted that the permission was taken to close the

present agreement of M/s Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd.,
Hyderabad and deviation was also approved by the Chief Engineer, Public
Health, Guntur. the total value of work done is Rs.4277.59 lakhs as against
Rs. 6200.00 lakhs of Administrative sanction amount accorded by the
Government.

The Engineer-in-Chief , (PH), Guntur has visited the two sites of

proposed intake wells at Guttakindavari palli and Chippili SS tank and
instructed to propose pedestals to run the 500 MM dia MS pipe line in vague
course to connect the existing pipe line. Further also instructed the two 10
MLD filtration plants constructed in the year -2013 and proposed the
required arrangements for trail running of the two 10 MLD filtration plant
including, pumping mains, Gravity mains, Trunk mains and Distribution
network. Hence the following estimates prepared based on 2016-17 common
SSR at Chippili SS tank site.

1) Construction of Intake well cum pump house at Chippili reservoir

2) Supply, delivery and erection of vertical turbine pumpsets
3) Manufacture, supply and delivery of balance raw water pumping from
Water treatment plant to Intake well
4) Transformer yard including transformer
5) Watchman quarters
6) Compound wall
7) Maintenance estimate for trail running of new scheme.
 Total amount work out to Rs. 611.06 lakhs and this can be met from
the overall savings amount available in main estimate.
