trabalhar com a fibra de vidro, fcil mas tedioso. Eu usei os materiais mais baratos que eu poderia comprar e o resultado no final foi
uma estrutura muito forte.
this page is a step by step introduction to fiber glassing.. i am no expert and this is the first time i ever experimented with fiber glassing, but it is extremely
easy, just tedious.. i used the cheapest materials i could buy and the end result was very very strong, and the correct shape--but my paintjob sucked.

A caixa que eu fiz era para um 6x9, apenas para testar. Assim eu esbocei uma tela para o 6x9, e cortei-o deixando uma sobra de 1/4"
de polegada (use MDF de espessura de 3/4" quando for usar subwoofers). Eu usei um rotozip para cortar a chapa.
The box i made was for a 6x9, just for testing.. so i outlined the 6x9 frame, and cut it out of 1/4" hardboard (use 3/4" MDF if using subwoofers). I used a
rotozip to cut out the piece.
Verifique para ver se o falante encaixa no seu projeto de anel e certifique-se voc no cortou fora muita madeira, assim voc ter
espao para parafusar o falante.
Check to see the frame fits nicely, and make sure you didn't cut out too wide, so there is wood there to screw into later on.

Juntei pedaos de madeira MDF de 3/4" para formar a base. Os pedaos brancos so tampas de caneta, usarei para segurar o anel.
I through together the 3/4" MDF base in 5 minutes, its all crap wood and split, but it works.. The square base is what is important. The four white pieces on
the ground are a cut up pen. I will use this to hold up the frame.

I used a hot glue gun to hold up the pen caps. it dries in about 5minutes and i got the hot glue gun in home depot for $2.99

This is with the frame hot glued as well.. wait until it is dry then you can cover it with fabric.
Compre um tecido de algodo fino. voc precisa de um que tenha um bom poder de absoro, como no queria gastar, usei umas
calas velhas. Cortei um grande quadrado e coloquei por cima do anel, precionei-a em volta de cada canto e prendi com cola quente.
Go to Joanne's fabrics and buy some cotton fleece.. you need something that sucks up a lot of moisture.. im cheap so i just used some ld sweat pants.. cut it
out so its a big flat square, lay it out over the frame, and pull around each corner tight, then staple or hot glue it down.

Corte o excesso de material, ser melhor para trabalhar.

Cut away the excess fleece material so it'll be easier to work with.
Esta o formato bsico. Este vai ser o formato da caixa de fibra de vidro no final, ento esteja certo que no exista nenhuma dobra ou
lugares fora de forma, tente deixar o pano bem esticado, voc no vai querer que uma parte do pano ceda com o peso da resina.
This is now the basic shape. This essentially will be the fiberglass shape of the box in the end, so make sure there are no creases or bumps. try also to make
it tight, you don't want it to sag down once you cover it with resin.

Eu comprei esta escova por $0,99 na loja de materiais de construo. Cortei as cerdas em aproximadamente 1". Voc estar usando-o
na resina de fibra de vidro e ser mais fcil fazer com um pincel mais curto e rgido.
I got this brush for $.99 at home depot.. cut off the bristles so its about 1" long. You will be using this to 'jab' resin into the fiberglass, and its easier with
shorter/stiffer bristles.
Indo para fora de casa -- aqui esto todos os materiais essenciais que voc necessitar. A caixa, resina da fibra de vidro
com catalisador (a maioria vm com eles, como este, da loja de materiais de construo, cerca de $7,99), luvas de borracha, um

go outside-- here are all the essential materials you'll need from now on.. The box, fiberglass resin with mekp (most come with it, like this one did, from home
depot, bondo brand $7.99). rubber gloves. a respirator (if you do this often, invest in a better one than i used), the brush, a stick to mix with. a bucket for
acetone (to keep brush in in-between coats so it doesn't harden), and a small plastic/paper cup to mix the resin/mekp in... optional is a beer, however choose
something nicer than miller lite, something like yuengling or corona is preferred.

the back of the bondo box gave instructions on how much mekp to add per 1 fl. oz of resin. So i measured 2oz in the Pyrex, poured water into a paper cup
and marked the level. bondo recommended 14/drop per 1oz, so that's 28per 2oz.. i used about 35
No comeo eu pensei que apenas 60ml de resina seria o bastante, mas o tecido sugou muita resina e acabei utilizando 360ml de resina.
Voc ir usar menos resina quando comear a colocar camadas de fibra de vidro. Tente utilizar um tecido escuro para saber se ele est
bem saturado de resina. Pincele a resina sobre o tecido e deixe secar por cerca de 20 minutos, depois ele estar como uma rocha.
At first i thought only 2oz would be enough--no way, the fleece sucked up resin like a mofo. i ended up using 6oz on the fleece itself.. you will use a lot less
once u actually start glassing. Try to use a dark fleece so that you can tell when it is saturated.. paint the resin on and let it sit about 20 mins, by then it
should be hard.

Esta foto de 20 minutos depois quando o tecido est duro, ento virei de ponta cabea e retirei as tampas de canetas que
sustentavam o anel de madeira, isto d acesso ao interior de todo o tecido que o lugar aonde a fibra de vidro ser colocado. melhor
colocar por dentro porque por fora vai ser difcil voc fazer um bom acabamento lixando ou outro tipo de acabamento. bom lembrar
que voc deve fazer a caixa com a maior quantidade de paredes em MDF pois a fibra de vidro em fibras retas no so muito
resistentes.
This is 20mins later. the fleece is now hard, so i flipped over the box and removed the pen caps.. this gives access from the inside to all the fleece, which is
where the glass will be laid. it is better to lay the glass from the inside bc if you did it from the outside, it will be very very hard to sand and make good later
on.. also remember make as much of the box from mdf as you can, fiberglass in long straight lengths isn't very strong---

Quando a resina secar, pegue a fibra e corte em pedaos. Faa isto antes de tudo, pois se voc fizer quando estiver mexendo com
resina este pode secar antes de voc grudar a fibra, eu usei tesoura no incio, mas voc pode rasg-la com suas mos. O material que
voc v aqui a fibra de vidro, elas tem vrios tipos diferentes de tecido de fibra de vidro. O tecido de fibra mais grosso e ajuda a
montar a estrutura mais rapidamente, fazendo a estrutura mais forte, mas um saco trabalhar nos vincos. Se voc estiver indo fazer
um projeto grande, melhor comprar os 2 tipos de fibra de vidro, use na maior parte o tecido de fibra e as fibras entrelaadas (em
vrias camadas) para bordas e vincos speros.
while the resin is drying, get the glass and cut/rip a bunch of pieces.. do this ahead of time bc if u do this while glassing, you will be sticky and its a major
pain in the ass... i used scissors at first, but u can just rip it with your hands.. the stuff you see here is fiberglass matt. they also have different types of
fiberglass cloth. The cloth is thicker and builds up much faster, making the structure stronger quicker, but is a pain in the ass to work in creases. If you are
going to do a big project its best to get both kinds, use mostly the cloth/weave and use the chopmatt (several layers more than the weave) for the rough
edges and creases.
Esta foto de quando eu comecei colar a fibra por dentro. Passe uma primeira camada bem fina e deixe o conjunto de ponta cabea
(USE LUVAS), passe o pincel na resina e d pequenas batidas na pea at ficar escuro indicando que est saturado de resina, haver
pontos brancos que so bolhas de ar -- tente pressionar para fora com a escova e em linha reta para fora, as bolhas de ar dentro das
camadas enfraquecero a estrutura.
this is when i started to glass the inside.. paint a very small amount down first, then lay the matt down (WEAR GLOVES!!), then load up the brush with resin,
and stab stab stab it on the pieces.. it will saturate with resin and stick and get dark.. you will see little white spots---these are air bubbles--try to press these
out with the brush and straight out the pieces.. air bubbles inside the glass at the end will weaken the structure..

Tudo feito, mas no comprei luvas caras, eles sero praticamente destudos depois de utilizados, o pincel tambm, Agora limpe e
espere cerca de 1 hora antes dele endurecer. O tempo de secagem por volta de 2 horas mas como adicionei catalisador a mais, a
secagem foi mais rpida. Mas se voc adicionar catalisador demais, a resina vai se tornar um gel tornando difcil sua aplicao.
all done---don't bother buying expensive gloves, they will be ruined.. the brush too.. now cleanup and wait about 1 hr before its hard. bondo's drying time
was 2 hours but since i added the extra mekp, i guess it went a little faster.. 1 thing to note though, if you add way too much hardener (mekp), the resin will
'gel' up, and not become spreadable..

Usei novamente o rotozip com um acessrio flexion-flex-mate para cortar o excesso de fibra de vidro. Estava realmente rgido por isso
a necessidade de utilizar um instrumento para cor-lo. Um dremel de $19 no WalMart tambm deve funcionar muito bem.
I again used the rotozip with a flex-mate attachment to cut the excess glass away... its really tough shit, so u need something to cut it--doing it by hand
wont happen.. a $19 dremel from Wal-Mart would prolly work as well.
Esta a aparncia do conjunto aps cortar todo excesso. Confira se o falante se encaica perfeitamente. Veja como ficou spero o tecido
mas ser lixado par retirar essas crateras.
This is what the edges look like when all the excess is cut away.. check to make sure the speaker fits correctly. see how rough the fleece is? all bumpy and
shit.. the majority of that will be sanded away. you will just be left with craters.

Eu usei uma lixadeira eltrica, Wal-Mart $20. Gastei cerca de 15 minutos para lixar tudo e deixar a superfcie lisa. Como eu disse antes,
a maioria das crateras foram embora. Se voc quiser dar uma aparncia mais profissional (eu no me importei para fazer isto), voc
deve ento adicionar um pouco de resina sobre o tecido. Alise por fora at que fique perfeitamente liso, assim vai estar pronto para a
pintura.
I used an electric detail sander, Wal-Mart $20, to sand.. it took about 15minutes straight to get it all smooth... like i said before, all the rough bumps were
gone.. just a few craters were left.. if you want a nice smooth professional look (which i didn't care to do), you must then add some bondo body filler. smooth
that all out. then resand that.. that will give you a perfect smooth automotive body type. all ready for painting
Depois de lixado, mas difcil mostrar que est bem liso. Existe alguns buracos mas nem me importei.
All done sanding -- it might be hard to tell in the pic, but it is very smooth now.. there are crates, but i didn't bondo it.

2 revestimentos de primer depois. Eu recordo de ter lido que seria necessrio um primer de tima qualidade, mas como no consegui
ach-lo, usei primer spray automotivo mesmo.
2 coats of primer. i remember reading you should use high build primer, but i couldn't find any so i used regular auto spray paint primer
Encontre um amigo para demonstrar a fora da caixa :) Eu fui surpreendido porque eu usei somente 2 camadas de fibra de vidro e
voc pode pisar sobre ela sem entortar. Se voc fosse montar uma caixa para um subwoofer talvez precise de 5 a 7 camadas fosse
suficiente para assegurar que no entorte. A aparcia da caixa boa, tem alguns buracos na superfcie mas no vem ao caso pois era
apenas um teste. Se voc estiver pensando em praticar o uso de fibra de vidro, faa-o, fcil, e eu montei toda a parte de aplicao da
fibra em aproximadamente 2 horas... outros 30 minutos para cortar, 30 minutos para pintar. h muitos mais recursos que voc pode
achar na web de como fazer outras formas mais especficas -- isto , se voc quiser moldar partes de seu carro ou o que quiser. Eu
comecei a montar a maioria dos tutoriais a partir dos forums em http://carsound.com .
find a friend to demonstrate the strength of the box :) i was pretty surprised because i only used 2 layers of glass and you can stand on it and it doesn't even
flex at all.. if you were to make a subwoofer box prolly 5-7 layers would be good enough to ensure no flexing at all.. finished product looks good, has some
craters in it but whatever, this was just a test anyway.. if you were questioning trying fiber glassing, do it.. its easy as hell, and i had the entire glassing part
done in under 2 hours... another 30mins to cut, 30mins to sand/primer then paint.. there are many more resources on the web on how to do specific
shapes--i.e. if you wanted to mold pieces of your car or whatever. I got the majority of the information on how to do this from the forums at
http://carsound.com/

Eu usei aproximadamente 1/8 da resina e aproximadamente 1/10 da fibra de vidro.. Tinha o suficiente para montar um par de
pezinhos, at mais. o mais caro o tempo que voc gasta.
there is enough there to due a pair of kick panels and more... the most expensive part is your time.
