Helloooooo, welcome to my Internship Resources doc!

:D Quick intro: my name is

Angela Zhuo and Im a Junior at Brown University studying Computer Science and
Theatre. This Google Doc is an aggregation of all **paid** internship opportunities (both
technical and non-technical, scroll down for non-tech roles) Ive learned about
throughout the years and I thought Id share it with everyone. Hope you find this helpful
and share this among your friends. Lets distribute the resources and lift each other up
instead of selfishly hogging all opportunities to ourselves! :) Special thanks to all those
who helped me make this doc possible, namely fellow Brunonians who volunteered to
share their internship experiences @their respective tech companies (Ebube C. B19,
Zach K. B19, Valerie N. B19, Valeria T. B19, Erica O. B18.5, Anthony M. B16, Wendy
Ginsberg B15 + countless more!) :D

**Please note: this is a working list and is still being updated as we speak (aka a v
tentative draft lol so I apologize in advance if I mistyped something or left any info out,
feel free to email me if you have any questions or would like to contribute to this
document: angela_zhuo@brown.edu) Also, so sorry about the mess on the left, the
Table of Content is still a work in progress, will most likely re-orient everything and
change the categories around to make browsing this doc easier in the future, hmu if you
have any suggestions!
P.S. please hover over the linked internships and make sure that you click the correct
company before proceeding to the attached links, otherwise you might accidentally click
the link to another companys application. the apps are pretty self-explanatory
otherwise, I also highly recommend browsing this doc on desktop to avoid the confusion

TECHNICAL/SOFTWARE ENGINEERING INTERNSHIPS

1) Freshmen and Sophomores:

--Google Engineering Practicum Internship (Already open, due November 3, 2017 at

--Twitter Academy Engineering Internship (Rolling basis, apply ASAP to maximize your
chances, be sure to check off the Twitter Academy box in the application when
applying, I was a finalist for this program my freshman year, but I chose Bloomberg over
them due to location. howeverrrrr, I can brief you on Twitters interview process and my
overall experience with their recruiting team if youd like :D)

15, 2018)
--Explore Microsoft Program: Engineering (Already open)

companies look at, Seniors and new grads can also apply to these opportunities):
--Bloomberg Software Engineering Internship (Rolling basis, apply ASAP to maximize
your chances, I was advised to apply by mid-October, the recruiters are already
reviewing applications right now, I interned here this past summer and loved it. hmu if
youd like more info on this, this was hands down one of the best internship experiences
Ive ever had; def 10/10 would recommend)

3) Software Engineering Full-time Employment (*Different from the internship, this is

specifically for Seniors who will graduate in 2018 or anyone whos finished their
undergraduate studies in CS/CE/EE or related fields)
--Bloomberg (Team placement dependent on 2 factors: your preferential team rankings
and which Bloomberg teams need new grads at the time of hiring but see below for a
sample of the teams within BB. Before you start full-time, you will also go through a 10
to 16 week technical training/bootcamp which is designed to introduce/familiarize you
with Bloomberg specific technology, especially the massive scale in which the
Bloomberg Terminal serves its clients. There are typically a couple of starting
dates/training classes you can choose from. Though most new grads go through the
12-week training program upon graduation (Its usually 12 weeks unless your major in
college was Applied Math or anything thats less technical than a Computer
Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering degree, this is a bit flexible
though Id talk to a recruiter for more details) with your chosen training class. This is
especially helpful in my opinion, since youll start your full-time job with a cohort of
amazing engineers who will offer you support throughout all your professional dev and
many training classes often go out for drinks together after work, its like a family and all
v cute/wholesome from what Ive seen :)))))

TECH COMPANY BENEFITS COMPARATIVE CHART

*Currently piloting this comp chart for different internship roles within the tech industry, will def
add more as we go but we want to gauge your interest as well so read on! For now, this is
primarily for comparing benefits & pros and cons for tech internships (both tech and non-tech
roles), along with compensation info and reviews, etc. The information collected here are taken
from conversations Ive had with friends who worked in these companies as well as fellow
Brunonians who interned for the said companies, though some metrics here were taken from
GlassDoor through anonymous reporting from former employees, too.
Please note: Im also hella beta-testing this so my apologies if there are typos here, havent
gotten the chance to proofread all convo reviews and transcribe them yet. As for our future
roadmap, well try to organize this chart into 2 sections, one partitioned off for SWE (Software
Engineering) and one specifically for non-tech/business roles. Let us know what you think! :D
