Respecting the human dignity and unique talents of each person, Southland College is dedicated in helping its students actualize their potentials for the enhancement of their own lives and for the
national development.
MISSION
Southland College School of Engineering, Computer Studies and Architecture students aim to provide service to the students by conducting quality research and activities
relative to engineering, computer studies and architecture, and disseminating and preserving technical knowledge.
1. Will have successful careers in engineering, IT and architecture and will have assumed professional roles of increasing responsibility and impact.
2. Will have acquired new knowledge and expertise through professional development opportunities or advanced education.
3. Will be engaged in workplace, professional civic communities.
4. Globally Competitive.
This course will cover the historical events in the Philippines from the pre-colonial periods up to the present. This will also give stress and importance on instilling the value of
nationalism in every Filipino. The integration of Political Science shall deal with an extensive discussion and presentation of the development, organization, and operation of the political
system of the country. It covers the concepts, theories and principles of Political Science and the analysis of the Philippine Constitution and its importance to our way of life.
Internalize, renewed relevant understanding of the Philippines through lessons in history, culture and governance. To conceive, compare and analyze and give importance to the
struggle of the early Filipinos toward the attainment of independence from the colonizers. To be able to differentiate/elucidate the theories of Political Science relative to existing institutions at
the local, national and international level and to stress the value of the events that paved the way to nationhood and the evolution of the Filipino people.

2. Determine the changes in the systems of government as a result of colonization and occupation of Spain, Japan and U.S.A. for the attainment of our independence and the present
constitution.
3. Locate, compare, organize and analyze data and other materials in the study of Philippine History, Governance and Constitution.
4. Familiarize with the different historical places and offices of the executive department, and other local government offices for the appreciation of the dynamics of Philippine
history and politics.
5. Incorporate and promote nationalism, the culture of peace that will inspire every Filipino to achieve progress locally and globally.
