Balagtas, Batangas City

Proponents: Marasigan Darius F. / Politico, Rigo Theodore T. / Soquiat, Sherlie S.

Project Brief:

The health care industry or medical industry is a sector within the economic system that

provides goods and services that treat patients with preventive, rehabilitative, curative, and

palliative care, thus it plays a vital role to a communitys upbringing and success. Despite the

presence of several modern medical establishments in the city of Batangas, we are still lacking the

true essence of medical assistance that is: to expand its range of medical services offered directly

or in collaboration with others to minimize cost, improve access, and enhance service excellence.

Batangas City has a population of 329, 874 as of 2015 (based on Philippine Statistics

Authority) and this translates to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.47% higher

than that of the period of 2000 to 2010. This statistics verifies the need for facility growth in all

major sections of the city from education, food, industrial, economic, environmental and especially

their medical industry.

Balagtas that can efficiently address the most common medical procedures and oncology,

hematology, cardiology, nephrology and neurology. Beneficiaries of the study are ultimately the

potential users of the facility that include residents or visitors of the city that need to be treated

Also included in this project is the construction of a parking building that would be very

efficient and accessible for the visitors. At the same time, the proposed project equate with the

standards of private medical facilities that will function accordingly for the treatment needs of the

indigent residents of Batangas City. The conduct of this thesis study for such a facility is therefore

proposed.
