The Black Death/Plague

Students will get into groups of four and read the article The Black Death,
1348 together. In this article you will be identifying cause and effect. A
cause and effect are two separate events, but an effect is dependent on, or
happens in reaction to a cause.

Example:
Cause: I called 911 on my telephone. Effect: The police arrived 2 minutes
later.

Answer the following questions in your groups.

Cause-
Infected fleas that attached themselves to rats and then to humans spread this
bubonic type of the plague.
