NOTE: The engine serial numbers above are based on current production records and should be used for planning purposes only. (2) Spares - Not affected B. Reason AE 3007 Series engines have experienced several 1st-stage compressor blade failures. Investigation of the failed blades indicated that it the inlet guide vane (IGV) angle is at the upper limit of the tolerance band of 34.5 to 35.5 degrees, high 1st-stage blade stresses could result. ‘The higher 1st-stage blade stresses may initiate a fatigue crack, which could result in the loss of a blade airfoil If the IGV angle is set to the nominal or the lower limit of the tolerance band, ‘1st-stage blade stresses remain within acceptable levels. The IGV setting angle will be reduced by three degrees to prevent possible high 1st-stage blade stresses, ©. Description ‘This service bulletin gives you the procedure to reduce the IGV setting angle three degrees closed. This change to the vane angle setting applies to the IGVs only, D.
