Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions

Teaching Guide for Introduction to Contemporary Art

Date: November 6 - 9, 2017


Days: Monday to Thursday

Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates appreciation of contemporary art forms, found in the
various regions by understanding the elements and principles.

Performance Standard:
The learner presents a form of integrated contemporary art based on the region
of his / her choice.

e.g. choreography, musical instrument, literary and music composition, visual design,
and/or theatrical performance

Learning Competencies:
The learner identifies various contemporary art forms and their practices from the
various regions. CAR11/12IAC-0a-1

Specific Learning Outcomes:


The learner:
1. recognizes the importance of the humanities.
2. understands that humanities and sciences can be integrated.
3. identifies various contemporary art forms and their practices from the various
regions.
4. acknowledges the significance of the Philippine contemporary arts.
5. reflects on the art forms found in ones community (past and present).
6. understands the difference of contemporary art to modern art.
