GlobalEd Events Announces the 2017 Global

Education Conference and a New Strategic Alliance
Leaders Gather Online to Present Ideas, Programs, and Initiatives for
Fostering Global Citizenship
CHICAGO, IL - Educators from around the world will kick off International Education Week by
attending the free online 2017 Global Education Conference which is scheduled to take place
November 13-16, 2017. Organized by Lucy Gray and Steve Hargadon of GlobalEd Events, this
annual convening features over 100 presentations led by global education leaders from around
the world.

The Global Education Conference is designed to significantly increase opportunities for building
education-related connections around the globe while supporting cultural awareness,
recognition of diversity, and educational access for all. The conference presents ideas,
examples, and projects related to connecting educators and classrooms with a strong emphasis
on promoting global awareness, fostering global competency, and inspiring action towards
solving real-world problems.

The Global Education Conference features over 100 sessions from some of the most innovative
thinkers from around the globe. Countries represented by speakers include Australia, Brazil,
Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, England, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel,
Japan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Qatar,
Singapore, South Africa, Tunisia, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

Excited to be sharing global education experiences with Alan Mather, CPS Chief Officer for
College & Career Success and Jennie Niles, Deputy Mayor of DC for Education, especially
while all of us are in Doha, Qatar, said Maggie Mitchell Salem, Executive Director of Qatar
Foundation International (QFI). Our goal is to demonstrate how private organizations and public
schools can work together to bring quality educational experiences to partner schools and
communities.

GlobalEd Events is also pleased to announce a newly formed strategic alliance with
TakingITGlobal (TIG) which allows for TakingITGlobal to serve as the key organizing partner for
the Global Education Conference Network and associated events. GlobalEd Events co-chairs
Lucy Gray and Steve Hargadon are excited about this new partnership that will empower both
organizations to expand outreach efforts to drive the global education movement forward.

GlobalEd Events is series of events designed to bring together and support the global education
