GAME MECHANICS

Message Relay
Participants are divided into groups and each group must form a line. The person in front will be given a
message and must pass it correctly to the next person. The goal is to get the message relayed to the last person
in the line. The first group with the correct message relayed wins.

CONTEST MECHANICS
Himig ng Pasko ( Christmas Caroling Contest )
Every group is allowed only one entry. Groupings are as follows:
o BSN 1 & GM 1
o BSN 2
o BSN 3
o BSN 4 & GM 2
o Caregiving & Health Care Services NC II
Each group must sing any Christmas song in Tagalog, Visayan or English version. The song may be original or
revised of their own choice. Use of any musical instrument or recorded accompaniment is allowed.
The theme of the presentation, including the lyrics, costume or choreography, MUST connote relevance to the
degree course of the respective groups. In other words, the Christmas carol presentation must be NURSING
themed.
The presentation shall not exceed 4 minutes, time inclusive of entrance and exit. Two (2) points from the
consolidated scores shall be deducted for every minute in excess of the allotted time and a fraction thereof in
case of seconds.
The song must be memorized.
All groups are prohibited from using inflammable materials such as fireworks or pyrotechnics. A ten (10) points
deduction shall be imposed against the group that violates this provision.
The order of presentation from each group will be decided by drawing lots before the start of the program.
The winners will be identified using the following Criteria for Judging:
o Voice Quality (25%)
(Harmony, blending, tone and color, Intonation, breathing, projection and pitch balance)
o Musicality (25%)
(Interpretation, dynamics, style, execution,Timing and expression)
o Mastery (15%)
(Clarity of the lyrics, message and values of the piece)
o Relevance to the theme (15%)
(Includes adherence to the related theme)
o Staging and costume (10%)
(Choreography, floor patterns, stage balance and color combination)
o Over-All Impact (10%)
(This would cover the performance of the group in the entirety)
For a TOTAL of 100%
The Board of Judges shall be designated/ selected by the PNSA officers and their decision is final and irrevocable.

Ilaw ng Pasko ( Parol Making Contest )


At least one entry per group.
All entries must be made from NURSING materials. The parol can be of any shape or form. It must be capable of
being hung or maybe propped up on a pole that can be carried. Optional: battery operated lighting (no candles),
movable decorations.
Entries should also be free from any sharp protrusions nor hazardous material which may cause harm to people.
The entries must be able to withstand indoor and outdoor conditions for the duration of the Christmas season.
The PNSA officers will ensure the safety and security of the entries but will not be held liable for any damage or
loss of an entry
Once an entry is submitted and formally lit, no alterations will be allowed on the design. Minor repairs such as
changing of bulbs, retouching of paint, and re-glueing will be allowed, after securing permission from the
officers.
The entries should be submitted on or before 5 p.m. on December 2, to be hung immediately in their designated
areas within the school premises. They shall be on display until January 3.
Entries that do not comply with any of the rules and regulations shall be disqualified.
Judging and announcing of winners will take place on the day of the PNSA Christmas Party.

PNSA Next TOUGH Model


All groups must have at least one contestant, either male or female.
Throughout the contest proper, contestant must wear and project a striking and glamorous themewear to the
stage.
The contestants will compete on the following categories:
o Best in Production Number
o Best Pose Award
o Best in Gown Modelling
o Best in Talent
o PNSA Favorite
o Most Witty Model
The Criteria for Judging is as follows:
o Stage Presence 30%
(Modeling Technique, Poise, Smile, Etc.)
o General Appearance 25%
(Make-Up, Shoes, Gown Condition, Accessories)
o Talent 20%
(Showmanship, entertainment value)
o Wit & Intellect 15%
(wit and humor)
o Audience Impact 10%
Total of 100%
Time allotted for the talent portion is 2 minutes minimum, 3 minutes maximum per candidate.
The PNSA Favorite will be determined by the audience impact.
The final list of representatives must be submitted to the PNSA officers on or before December 2.

Quizbee
Every group must have 3 participants. Groupings are as follows:
o BSN 1 & GM 1
o BSN 2
o BSN 3
o BSN 4 & GM 2
o Caregiving & Health Care Services NC II
The questions for the competition will cover basic nursing and clinical information
No cellphones, tablets, or any other electronic communication devices are allowed during the competition. If a
contestant is found to have a device in his/her possession during the contest proper, his/her team is
automatically disqualified from the contest.
The questions shall be in the form of multiple choice, True / False statement, Specific-answer question etc.
Audience shall not give any hints or clues to the competitors.
Each team should confirm their contestants with the officers prior to the start of the competition. No
substitutions to the contestants will be allowed after confirmation.
Before the start of the competition proper, the quiz master will perform a roll call of all confirmed teams. Teams
which are not called/have failed to confirm with the officers will not be allowed to join the competition.
The contest will have two rounds: the qualifying round and the championship round.
Each question will have this sequence:
a. The quiz master will state the question number and read the question body twice. The question will also be
projected on-screen. A thirty second timer will start after the quiz master says go.
b. Each team will write their answer on the provided answer board. Each team should minimize their voices
while discussing their answer and should conceal their answer boards to prevent cheating.
c. A buzzer will be rung at the end of the timer, and the quiz master will say time is up. Each team should stop
writing on their boards at that point. Failure to do so will invalidate the teams answer for that question.
d. Each team should raise their answer boards and keep them raised until the quiz master allows them to lower
it. Failure to do so will also invalidate the teams answer for that question.
e. The quiz master will announce the correct answer for the question. The answer will also be projected on-
screen. Assigned proctors will then check each teams answer board to determine if their answer is correct.
f. Any clarification about the teams answer will be forwarded to the board of judges. The judges will determine
if the answer will be considered correct or wrong. The decision of the judges are final and clarifications after
which will not be entertained.
g. The quiz master will perform a roll call of each team and will say if the teams answer is correct or wrong. The
points the team earned will then be listed onto the score board.
h. After the team is called, they will be allowed to lower their answer boards and erase their answers in
preparation for the next question.

QUALIFYING ROUND:
There will be three sets for this round with corresponding points for each correct answer:
a. Easy set 5 points
b. Intermediate set 10 points
c. Difficult set 15 points
There will be no penalty for wrong and no answers.
Each set is made up of eight random questions.
Answers should be written in capital letters.
The top two ranked teams which garnered the highest total number of points from the three sets will qualify for
the championship rounds. The points in this round will not be carried over to the championship round.

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND:
1. The championship round will consist of eight identification questions worth five points each.
2. There will be no penalty for wrong or no answers.
3. Answers should be written in capital letters. The spelling should be correctand abbreviation
and the use of acronyms will not be allowed.
4. At the end of the championship round, the top two teams will be declared as the winners.
5. In case of a tie, a tie-breaker question will be given to the tied teams. The first team to score
an advantage over the other teams wins the tie.
DECLARATION OF WINNERS
1. The team which garnered the highest total number of points in the championship round will
be declared the champion. The next team will be declared as the runner up.
