Join The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness, in partnership with iaedp
Tampa Bay, for the 2nd annual “celebrating everyBODY: a walk for eating
disorders awareness.” More than 350 individuals attended last year’s walk,
raising much needed funds for our local community. Help us continue to raise
awareness and offer direct support to those struggling with eating disorders.

Date: Sunday, March 4, 2018

Time: Registration begins at 9:00 am
Location: Raymond James Stadium
Tampa, FL
Why: To raise awareness and education of eating disorders,
and spread the message of hope and recovery.
 

Proceeds from the celebrating everyBODY walk will remain in our local community!
They will directly fund our free weekly, clinician-led eating disorders support group and
the printing and distribution of the Florida Eating Disorders Treatment Referral Guide.

 About The Alliance
The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing
programs and activities aimed at outreach, education, early intervention, and advocacy of all
eating disorders. Founded in October 2000, The Alliance has worked tirelessly to raise
awareness, eliminate secrecy and stigma, promote access to care, and support those susceptible
to, currently struggling with, and recovered from eating disorders. We advocate for health
promotion including a positive body image free from weight preoccupation and size prejudice.
We create a bridge for those needing and seeking help by connecting people with resources to
assist them in recovery.

Over the past 17 years, The Alliance has offered comprehensive services including: educational
presentations to schools (upper elementary through doctoral level students), healthcare
providers offices and hospitals, treatment centers, and community agencies, free support groups
for those struggling and for their loved ones; advocacy for eating disorders and mental health
legislation, a national toll-free phone help line, and referrals and mentoring services. Since its
inception, The Alliance has offered presentations on eating disorders, positive body image, and
self-esteem to more than 290,000 individuals nationwide.

In addition, The Alliance has produced and printed 75,000 US Treatment Center Referral
Guides and 47,000 Florida Eating Disorder Treatment Referral Guides. Since 2010, Florida
Guides and US Guides were mailed to schools and colleges/universities in the United States free
of charge. The Guides were designed to provide access to care for those who are struggling with
an eating disorder and to provide referrals to treatment centers that specialize in eating
disorders. In 2017, The Alliance launched www.findEDHelp.com, a completely interactive
version of the guides.

Due to the success of the 2017 Tampa walk, The Alliance created a free weekly, clinician
led eating disorders support group in the Tampa Bay area.
