Unit Title: Instructional Analysis Video Name: Richelle Acain

Content Area: Physical Education Grade Level: 9th
CA Content Standard(s)/Common Core Standard(s):
*CS 1.5 Explain the use of the principles of biomechanics (leverage, force, inertia, rotary motion, opposition, and buoyancy); apply the principles to achieve
advanced performance in aquatic, rhythms/dance, and individual and dual activities; and evaluate the performance based on the use of the principles.

*CS 1.10 Analyze situations and determine appropriate strategies for improved performance in aquatic, rhythms/dance, and individual and dual activities.

*CS 3.9 Recognize and evaluate the role of cooperation and positive interactions with others when participating in physical activity.

Big Ideas/Unit Goals:

*Analyze and explain different body movement patterns using video analysis software.

*Compare and contrast between skills before and after feedback.

*Develop a training plan based on video analysis to improve skill.

Unit Summary:
Physical Education is so much more than learning new games and skills. One of the things I want you to take away from this class is how to analyze
movements. This unit fosters the analysis and evaluation of movement patterns. The unit will give students the opportunity to apply biomechanical and
anatomy/physiology concepts to create an Instructional Analysis Video to understand the importance of analyzing movements and the role of feedback
when learning/teaching a new skill. Students will utilize their knowledge of any skill that they have learned thus far; examples may include the volleyball
forearm pass, soccer dribble, basketball layup, etc. to teach a beginner how to perform the movement. By the end of this unit, students will be able to video
record, analyze the video, and provide feedback to their student in order to improve their students skill level.

skill.
Anecdotal Notes-Student teachers will take notes on
their students progress performance and determine
the best course of action to improve it.
