INTRODUCTION

My name is Rajveer Singh and I am from Patna. I did my schooling from Patna itself. I was the only
student of my school to get 100% marks in maths. I have received a gold medal in my school in a
talent competition conducted by CIPEL. I graduated from NIT Kurukshetra in mechanical engineering.
My B.Tech project was on scissor lift which aims to design a portable kind of lift to carry 500 kg of
loads at certain heights to make the movement and operation easier. Also, selection of material was
of key importance to reduce overall weight. During my college I had gone through a summer training
of four weeks at NTPC Barh in which I got to know about its processes and current capacity. I have
won many prizes throughout my academics which includes winning Puzzle Solving event Amazing
Race in my College fest Altius and received 1st prize for this. Also, I have organised the same event in
the final year of my college. I have won Roll-a-coaster competition in Techspradha- an annual
technical fest of my college in which all students from the college participated by designing a model
of roller coaster. I was also an active member of Mech-Soc, an official society of Mechanical
Engineers which focuses on enhancing the acumen of students by bringing managerial and technical
competencies of students with national benchmark. I was also a member of SIKSHA a society for
providing education to underprivileged children of workers and labourers by teaching them and
funding for them from the entire city. Apart from this, I love solving puzzles and have keen interest
in travelling and adventure sports. Till now I have experienced river rafting, trekking, cliff-jumping,
zip-lining and would like to experience more in future. Talking more about myself I can work as a
team leader as well as a team member, I am a social person and love to take responsibilities.

2. STRENGTHS

I am a reliable person determined towards any work assigned and work hard to achieve it. I never
lose hope. For example, during my college I was chosen as head of catering committee by other
students because of my strength. I kept track of time table of the events occurring during the fests,
catered the guests & students, kept record of inventory and made every event a successful one.

3. WEAKNESS

I go through very hard times by missing any deadline or by not completing any task assigned. I try my
best to achieve or complete any task however if I dont achieve them then I feel really bad and lose
my concentration on current task and think of what could have been done so that I would have done
the task on time and not missed the deadline.

Sometimes I find myself honest and speak up the first thing without thinking about its
consequences. However I am improving on this by slowing down in answering any question and try
not to speak anything at once.

4. SOMETHING YOU DID OR DIDNT DO YOU ARE ASHAMED OF

I am not ashamed of it but yes I think should have continued my job for few more months as it
would have given me more field and practical knowledge.

But if I would have not taken that decision then I would have never been in NITIE and obviously I
wont be getting this opportunity to present myself before you.
5. WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER OPTIONS AT THIS MOMENT?

My career option right now is to work with an esteemed organisation like yours so as to use my
knowledge in organisations benefits and to make an overall improvement of myself.

6. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS?

I love solving puzzles. I have won puzzle solving event in my college in two consecutive years.

I like travelling, till now Ive been to many places like Jaipur, jaisalmer, Kolkata, rishikesh, Shimla,
nainitaal and many more.

Last book I read was Its your life by Vinita Nangia who writes in Times of India column O-zone.

8. TELL ABOUT A SITUATION WHERE YOU AND YOUR WORK WAS CRITICISED?

I was once criticised by my professor in charge as I was given a seminar to complete and I made
wrote the topic wrong (spelling mistake) and I in front of my whole batch I had gone through this
criticism and was feeling embarrassed. But now I have learnt through my mistake try to check at
least topics and bullet points again not to do same mistake again.

9. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT REPORTING TO A YOUNGER PERSON/MINORITY?

It absolutely makes no difference to me to report to a younger or minor person. In fact I would

be happy with companys criteria of selection/positioning on merit basis which is the best for
any organisations growth.

10. WOULD YOU LIE FOR THE COMPANY?

I would never do anything which is against the company and when it will come to lie for the
company then yes, I would do that if there is no harm on anybodys end or my lie is not hurting
anyone.

11. IF GIVEN A CHANCE ONE THING YOU WOULD TO CHANGE ABOUT YOU HAVE DONE?

After spending the very first semester of my college I thought it is easy to score good in exams
and took it for granted because of which I got 6 grades in later semesters which I am still
carrying today with me. However, I worked hard and improved in last year but yes if given a
chance I would have changed my thinking and studied to score good to have better cgpa.

12. CAN YOU WORK UNDER PRESSURE?

Yes, I can work under pressure. In fact life is full of pressure and challenges. Actual character of a
person comes out in pressure. Working under pressure gives me a chance to measure myself
and helps me to grow. I have always worked well during deadlines and learned how to work
more efficiently under pressure.
13. WHAT MAKES YOU ANGRY?

It makes me angry when people judge somebody before knowing him. One cannot judge
anybody by look or by name. It would be better if one meets or talks before making an opinion.

14. WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND WHY?

I am very much inspired by Mahendra Singh Dhonis life. The way he has achieved so much after
struggling in his life emerging from a small town like Ranchi, working as a ticket collector still
going after what he has dreamt of and in fact after getting selected into Indian Team how he
managed to become a captain after early failures and achieving success one after the other.

15. ARE YOU WILLING TO TRAVEL OR RELOCATE?

Yes, I like travelling and adventure sports. Nothing can be better for me if relocated as it will give
me opportunities to explore new places and meet new people that along with work.

16. HOW COULD YOU HAVE IMPROVED YOUR CAREER PROGRESS?

Throughout my career I have constantly strived to learn and grow by sincerity, dedication and
hard work. Till now I am quite happy with what I have achieved. I can improve my career by
preparing for new challenges and opportunities in life; by utilising time according to the given
assignment, by enhancing my personal interest towards work and by working all together as a
team as an individual cant stand a big project.

For me, Success is not just achieving a set target but its also an overall improvement of a person
in all fields when compared to past. Success is not just a destination it is journey of reaching the
destination in terms of happiness, skills, knowledge and satisfaction. One cannot be called as a
successful person if he is not happy with his life and actions.

19. ARE YOU A TEAM PLAYER?

Yes, I am a very good team player and I am not at all selfish. What I think is working in a team
does not only mean working with the strongest one only but also taking along the weakest one
so as to make the entire team achieve the target. For example I have won three prizes in three
events in my college fest working as a team which is big achievement for me.

20. WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO YOU MONEY OR WORK?

Money and work both are important simultaneously. Work will help me to grow and progress
gradually and Money is a way to measure how successful I am in the society. But I believe that
hard work will automatically be followed by money so work is more important.

21. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF FIVE YEARS FROM NOW?

I want to work in an organisation like yours with a long term commitment. After five years I want
to see myself at the top level management recognised by work. Its exactly what I was looking
for and what I am qualified to do. Also, I know if I do this with excellence many opportunities will
open up for me.

My education along with my cognitive and logical ability makes me different for this job. I think
of every question with a logic and valid reason and apart from that my sincerity and dedication
make me achieve even difficult targets. So in this way I will make the organisation grow using my
skills.

23. SUBJECTS YOU ENJOYED STUDYING MOST AND WHY?

I enjoy studying mathematics thats why I chose engineering and my academics shows that.

24. SUBJECTS YOU DISLIKE MOST AND WHY?

I disliked studying social studies which comprises of history and I feel no interest in what has
happened in the past. These are kind of theoretical subjects so I didnt like them.

25. BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT IN LIFE / TOUGHEST CHALLENGE YOU HAVE EVER FACED?

My biggest achievement is securing seventh rank in the entire state in national maths Olympiad.

26. WHAT TYPE OF ASSIGNMENT KEEPS YOU ENGAGED AND ASSIGNMENTS THAT DO NOT EXCITE
YOU?

Assignments which keep me busy are challenging ones that require me to use my analytical skills
and where I can have some learning and scope for improvement however those which are out of
the box where there is nothing new for me to learn do not excite me.

My short terms goal is to get a job in a reputed company where I can utilise my skills and improve
my career path. What I figured out is Long term is best when broke in short term goals. However
my long term goal is to work at higher position representing the company with higher and more
responsibilities recognised by work.
