FLATHEAD POMONA GRANGE SCHOLARSHIP

INFORMATION SHEET

The Flathead Pomona Grange, a longtime agricultural fraternal organization, has set aside funds to be
used for educational scholarships to TWO graduating seniors from any high school in Flathead County.
Amount of scholarship: $500.00 each.

CRITERIA

THE APPLICANT:

1. Must be a graduating senior in Flathead County

2. Must fully complete in formal application. (Available from school guidance offices or career
centers.) No substitute forms will be accepted.

3. Must submit three (3) letters of recommendation with application.

4. Must provide an official transcript of grades with application for this scholarship.

5. Must be enrolled in a sufficient number of quarter or semester hours at the time of entry into
college to be considered a full-time student.

6. After receipt of the scholarship, the recipient will be required to attend the June Flathead Pomona
Grange meeting (first Monday in June). This will provide an opportunity for the organization to
meet the individual as well as hear what receiving the scholarship means to the recipient.

7. Optional: Enclose a wallet-size picture with scholarship application.

8. Applications which are incomplete or missing attachments, i.e. letters of recommendation,

transcript of grades, etc. will be disqualified.

ELIGIBILITY:

All graduating seniors of high schools in Flathead County who have maintained at least a 2.0 cumulative
grade point average in all course work and planning to attend any of the following approved schools will
be eligible:

1. Vocational School
2. Four-year University of College
3. Any other approved institution that would prove beneficial to the student in furthering his/her
education and/or development of a future profession.

METHOD OF SELECTION:

Selection of scholarship winners will be made by members of the Flathead Pomona Grange Executive
Committee and a member of the Grange Scholarship Committee. The selection will be based on
information submitted on the application form, letters of recommendation, and grade point average. Such
things as financial need, scholastic ability, community involvement, Grange involvement, school
activities and completeness of the application will be considered. 50% of consideration will be given to
financial need.

METHOD OF AWARDING:

Decisions as to the scholarship winners will be made on or before May 15 annually. Scholarship winners
will be announced at an awards assembly at each winners respective school or at graduation ceremonies
or both.

The awarded funds will be made payable to the student upon receipt of a copy of her/her registration.
