RESUMEN
ABSTRACT
Non-nutritive sucking habits have frequently been associated with the development of
malocclusions. Objectives: Determine relationship between non-nutritive sucking
habits and malocclusions in 3 to 5 year old children of I.E.I. N418 Seor de los
Milagros Tacna 2016. Methodology: In the current correlational and transversal study,
62 children with primary dentition were assessed. A clinical exam was performed on
the children to record malocclusion data and non-nutritive sucking habits questionnaire
given to the mothers. Data were analyzed through square Chi test with a 5%
significance level. Results: Frequency of non-nutritive sucking habits was 24,2% and
the most frequent type was digital suction with 12,9%. Frequency of malocclusions was
66,1%. A statistically significant relationship was found between non-nutritive sucking
habits and malocclusions (p = 0,011). Conclusions: there is a statistically significant
relationship between non-nutritive sucking habits and malocclusion in 3 to 5 old year
old children of I.E.I. N418 Seor de los Milagros Tacna 2016.
2. MATERIAL Y METODOS
El tipo de la investigacin es de diseo
no experimental, el nivel de
investigacin fue correlacional y de
corte transversal.
Se llev a cabo mediante dos tcnicas
de investigacin: una encuesta dirigida
Segn la tabla, el hbito ms frecuente
es la succin digital con un 12,9%,
seguido de la succin labial con un
11,3%, la succin de objetos se
present con un 6,5% y ninguno
presento succin del chupn.
