DESCRIPTION
The 3rd ICONIC (International Conference of Integrated Intellectual Community) 2018 is biannual conference initiated
among academician within the Indonesian Student Association in Germany, also called Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia
(PPI) Jerman), and that has been devoted to discuss scientific state-of-the-art on the recent worldwide hot topics, to
exchange knowledge and experiences amongst academicians or scientists, practitioners and policy makers.

ICONIC 2018 raises a theme of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development adopting the resolution in UN
General Assembly held on September 25th 2015 (http://www.un.org). A set of goals toward a new sustainable
development agenda to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all has been issued, including: (1)
Zero hunger, (2) Good health and well-being, (3) Quality education, (4) Gender equality, (5) Clean water and
sanitation, (6) Affordable and clean energy, (7) Decent work and economic growth, (8) Industry, innovation and
infrastructure, (9) Reduced inequality, (10) Sustainable cities and communities, (11) Responsible consumption and
production, (12) Climate action, (13) Life below water, (14) Life on land, (15) Peace, justice and strong Institution, and
(16) Partnerships for the goals. Already specific and ambitious targets have been proposed to achieve over the next 15
years. This renders opportunities for people around the world to exchange ideas and share experiences for
accelerating the achievement of each target. With respect to the new set of sustainable development goals, ICONIC
2018 focuses on the central issues covering:

1. Energy and natural sciences.

2. Information technology and telecommunications, infrastructures and logistics.
3. Food industry and medical science.

In 2018, PPI Jerman is also honored to host the 5th Symposium of Indonesian Student Association of America and
Europe region (Simposium PPI AMEROP). The ICONIC 2018 and the AMEROP Symposium 2018 are designed to afford
the delegates to work together, build a network, elaborate the ideas, and start encouraging the first movement to
overcome the challenges of the current and future Indonesia by peer reviewed research. What are the implications of
such sustainable developments and change processes through science and technology in Indonesia? These questions
and related topics (Energy and Natural sciences; IT, Infrastructure, Logistics, and Telecommunication; also Food
industry and Medical sciences) will be addressed in plenary presentations and keynote speeches in thematic sessions.

GUIDE FOR AUTHORS

The authors are allowed to submit their contributions to the conference in scientific paper type. The number of
submitted contributions is not limited for one author. However, the corresponding author of the accepted paper
should be registered in presenter registration. In other words, she/he cannot register to conference only as an
observer. All contributions will be reviewed by our editorial board. For more detailed descriptions, the author may
refer to the writing guidelines:

All authors who submit an abstract of a paper must confirm that they have not previously published these data,
that have not previously presented them at a large scientific meeting and that they are not planning to present or

5
publish them prior to the dates of this ICONIC 2018 conference. Author submitting abstracts for presentation at this
ICONIC 2018 conference should consider the following:
1. Abstract and final paper should be written in English and formatted according to the provided MS-Word
templates, which are available on the conference website.
2. Abstract is limited to one page for a review purpose. Results of the studies should be presented in the
abstract. It is recommended to include illustration, tables, graphs, diagram and main references in the one-
page abstract.
3. Authors with the accepted abstract have to submit a final paper by the due date.
4. It should be noted that the template of the final paper will be different from that of the abstract. The
submitted final manuscript will be included in the official conference proceedings of ICONIC 2018 and
published by Social Science Research Network (SSRN).
5. It should be emphasized that for the inclusion in the official proceedings, it is mandatory that the paper is
presented at the conference. The accepted paper, which is not registered and presented in the conference,
will be removed from the conference program and proceedings, respectively.
6. The number of authors and their affiliations for each paper is not limited.
7. Authors are allowed to submit more than one abstracts. Nevertheless, the acceptance of one abstract will not
automatically include the other contributions.
8. The author(s) needs to register themselves as presenter(s), make a necessary payment and (if any) make
required amendments as notified later by our editorial board via email.
9. When uploading the abstract to the conference website, the authors should indicate the sub-theme category,
in which the abstract will be registered and reviewed. To view our sub-theme for this year, click here.
In the abstract and final paper, please underline the presenting author and make sure that the e-mail address, regular
mail address, telephone number, and fax number of the corresponding author are written correctly. The authors
will be informed about the paper acceptance via the corresponding author's e-mail address.
It should be noted that call for paper in ICONIC 2018 is open to anyone, regardless of nationality, race, gender, age,
occupation, religious affiliation, political view and academic status.
