*the description for last names T-Z asked for a two-paragraph

summary, but the rubric asked for a one-paragraph summary so I
wrote a two-paragraph summary below just to be safe!
Summary:

In the article, Analyzing Principal Professional Development Practices Through the Lens
of Adult Learning, Sally J. Zepeda, Oksana Parylo, and Ed Bengston address their findings from
a study where 4 school districts in Georgia are looked at to examine development practices by
applying the adult learning theory. By conducting a cross-case analysis they uncovered nine
common practices. Some of the practices disclosed include aligning and focusing professional
development, encouraging mentoring relations, and individualizing professional development.
While all of these have characteristics of adult learning, most of them are problem centered
rather than self-directed. All of this research was done to help further the professional
development practices while looking through the lens of adult learning.

After covering the four different schools and the implications of the study, the three
authors concluded that their study was to help inform people on the topic at hand.
Furthermore, they discuss all of their findings in detail about each district in Georgia. They also
address that this study examined pre-existing data rather than creating new data. The four
cases included: Indian Hills County Public Schools, Norris county School, Kettle County School
Systems, and Richland County School System. Their data will hopefully help better inform
schools in the future on these practices and after extensive research, they have concluded that
more research needs to be done.
