Why is the LEED Green Associate exam being translated?
Porque o Exame do LEED Green Associate est sendo traduzido?

We are offering a bilingual Spanish and English version of the LEED Green Associate Exam as part of
the USGBCs international strategy to support local leaders, and provide a globally consistent yet
regionally applicable LEED rating system. This exam will give green building professionals who speak
Spanish greater opportunity to access the exams, learn more about LEED, and demonstrate their
knowledge.

Will the exam be in Brazilian Portuguese or traditional Portuguese?

The exam will be in Brazilian Portuguese. The exam is bilingual and will display the test questions in both
English and Brazilian Portuguese.

How do I register for the exam?

Registration follows the same process as the English exam. Please visit the USGBC website to learn
how to apply and register. The application and registration process is in English. You will be asked to
choose the language of your exam, and you can select Brazilian Portuguese at that time.

When will I be able to take the exam in Portuguese?

Candidates can register and schedule their exams at testing centers as early as September 7, 2012.
Candidates can take the exam starting September 24, 2012.

The exam will be offered at Prometric testing centers worldwide. To locate a testing center, please visit

Will there be an extra cost?

There is no extra cost for taking the LEED Green Associate exam in Brazilian Portuguese. The
registration fee is $50 USD. The exam fees are $150 USD for USGBC members and full-time students
and $200 USD for all others.

No existe nenhum custo adicional para os exames do LEED Green Associate em Portugus Brasileiro.
A taxa de registro de US$50. As taxas do exame so de US$150 para os membros do USGBC e
estudantes em tempo integral e de US$200 para todos os outros.

How was the translation done?

Green Building Council Brasil was a valued partner and assisted with the review of the translations. The
exam was translated by a professional translation company, and reviewed by bilingual English and
Brazilian Portuguese LEED Professionals. .

Will the LEED AP exams also be translated into Brazilian Portuguese?

At this time, only the LEED Green Associate exam is offered. We may offer the LEED AP exams in
Spanish in the future.
