4. General Introduction (Reader)
On World Mission Sunday, in every parish around the world, a collection is taken
up for Catholic missions in over 1,150 dioceses in 120 countries. Your contribution
today will go towards helping teachers and catechists to teach the faith in urban
centers and remote villages. You will help to build churches and chapels in mission
stations for people to worship, hear Gods word and receive sacraments. You will
help in the effort to raise up and train new leaders who will minister to people in
their own language. You will provide material support to the poor and suffering
lifting up individual dignity through the love of Christ.
Your financial gift will go to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, which is
the official worldwide Catholic network of mission cooperation enabling the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to reach to the ends of the earth. Thank you for joining in
this central work of the Church!

and love. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

(Introductions to the readings have been omitted this week)

7. 1st Reading (Reader)

A Reading from the book of Isaiah 66: 18-21
For I know their works and their thoughts, and I am coming to gather all nations
and tongues; and they shall come and shall see my glory, and I will set a sign
among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Put,
and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off, that
have not heard my fame or seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among
the nations. And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an
offering to the Lord, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules,
and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the
Israelites bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord. And
some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the Lord.

8. Responsorial Psalm 98:1, 2-3, 3-4, 5-6 (Reader)
R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.
Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done wondrous deeds; his right hand has
won victory for him, his holy arm. (R)
The Lord has made his salvation known: in the sight of the nations he has revealed
his justice. He has remembered his kindness and his faithfulness toward the house
of Israel. (R)
All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation by our God. Sing joyfully to the
Lord, all you lands; break into song; sing praise. (R)
Sing praise to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and melodious song. With
trumpets and the sound of the horn sing joyfully before the King, the Lord. (R)
9. 2nd Reading (Reader)
A Reading from the Acts of the Apostles 11: 19-26
Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen
traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to none
except Jews. But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on
coming to Antioch spoke to the Greeks also, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the
hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number that believed turned to the
Lord. News of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent
Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad; and
he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose; for he
was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a large company was
added to the Lord. So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul; and when he had
found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church,
and taught a large company of people; and in Antioch the disciples were for the
first time called Christians.

Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had
directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him; but some doubted.
And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the

R. Lord make us rediscover your Mission!
Missionary disciples even give their lives so that they completely become involved

your kingdom to grow through the gift of their lives.
R. Lord make us rediscover your Mission!
Pope Francis, along with all the bishops and all the shepherds of the people of God,
