“….

It is APPOINTED UNTO MAN ONCE TO DIE , AFTER

THAT THE JUDGEMENT….”
“......It is appointed unto man to die, once after that the judgement..........” (Hebrews 9
verse 27).

They say a religious elders has important Ceremonial Functions to perform. There are
many no doubt. We just want to focus on three that are sometimes known as “ match
them, hatch them and despatch them....”.

Your life begins when you are born as a miracle of procreation. The Religious Elder
was there to dedicate you or bless you and your parents so that you would grow up and
be a credit and not a liability to your parents , your immediate family, the Church and
to the community. ( That is the HATCHING part ).

You become a procreator of life when you participate in the sanctified Institute of
Marriage to bring forth children into this world when you graduate from the Single
Club and join the time honoured Marriage Club of the Sacred and Sanctified Institution
of Marriage patterned after the Biblical Blueprint of Marriage that was ordained by
God to be between a man and a woman.

The Religious Elder or Elders and the Respected Community Leaders and Close relatives
and Close Freinds will be there or was there to witness you become a credit and not a
liability to your parents, your immediate family, the Church and to the community.
( That is the MATCHING part ).

You continue on your journey through life to meet your final destination and as you
grow older you may have your hair turn gray and you may walk with a walking stick as
you “.... look down to the dust from whence you came ....”.

And when your days on earth is done , your Religious Elders and Leaders, your Church
and Close and Far Family Members, and Close and far freinds , and the Community are
there to witness and to testify that your life was a credit and not a liability to your
parents , your immediate family, the Church and to the community. ( that is the
DESPATCHING part ).

The Apostle Paul said in Hebrews Chapter 9 :

“.......27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall
he appear the second time without sin unto salvation....”. ( Hebrews 9 verse 27 and 28 ).

The Christian has the hope of the resurrection. Planted in death to rise in victory in the
resurrection. Death is not the end. It is but just the sun setting on a life that has come to an
end with a promise of a bright resurrection.
