Abstract
Currently, there have been many technological changes aimed at improving the quality
of life of people and conditions in which the planet is increasing pollution of industries.
In Peru, 70% of the pollution is generated by the automotive sector, the Ministry of
Environment (Minam), mainly due to the emission of toxic gases (sulfur dioxide,
carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide). This in due to the erosion of internal engine
components, when this occurs, proceeds to the repair leaving as swarf waste product.
The latter is composed of steel, iron, aluminum, and other metals.
The boom in the construction sector has led to the search for new technologies to
improve the quality and performance of concrete, such as additives and additions.
Reyes et al. (2010), Bolivia, swarf tested as addition to concrete, producing a concrete
which had improved compressive strength greater than conventional concrete. The
objective of this project is to produce a concrete with additions of swarf generated in
Trujillo workshops to improve their physical properties: compressive strength,
settlement and absorption.
