Introduction

Gate Valve
Gate valve, also know as sluice valve, is a valve that opens by lifting a round
wedge out of the path of a fluid. The distinct feature of a gate valve is the
sealing surfaces between the gate and seats are planar, so gate valves are
often used when a straight-line flow of fluid and minimum restriction is desired.
Typical gate valves should never be used for regulating flow, unless they are
specially designed for that pur pose.

Globe Valve
Globe valve is a type of valve used in regulating flow in a pipeline, consisting of
a movable disk-type element and a stationar y ring seat in a generally spherical
body.

Glove valves are widely used for application require throttling and frequent
operation. Since the baffle of the globe valves restrict flow, it is not
recommended where full and unobstructed flow is required.

Check Valve
Check valve / Non- retur n valve is a mechanical device which nor mally allows
fluid to flow through it in one direction.

Check valve has two openings in the body, one for fluid to enter and the other for
fluid to leave. It works automatically and exter nal control is not required.
Although check valves are offered in a wide range of size, they are generally
small and simple.

There are two types of connection available Flanged or Wafer Type.

 SK-I

Butterfly Valve
Butterfly valve is usually used for regulating and isolating flow. The closing
mechanism takes the for m of a disc which allows quick shut off.

The valves disc is positioned in the centre of the pipe, passing through the disc
is a rod connected to an actuator on the outside of the valve. Rotating the
actuator tur ns the disc either parallel or per pendicular to the flow.

Y-Strainer
Y-Strainer takes the name for its configuration. It is intended to be used for
applications where small amounts of solid par ticulate are expected, and where
clean-out will be infrequent.

Y-Strainer allows clean-out without removal of the screen and interrupting the
process flow.

The Y-end of the Y strainer must be below the pipeline, pointing down, to trap the
debris.

Bucket Strainer
Same as Y-Strainer, Bucket Strainer is also used for trapping debris.

Bucket Strainer provides a larger screen compared with Y-Strainer. It also has a
cap on the top which can be easily removed to clean or replace the gasket.

Gate valves are designed for ser vices that require infrequent operation. The disc is kept either
fully opened or fully closed. It is not recommended for regulating flow pur pose.
