2005-2015 Whittington Creek Art Show Knoxville, Tennessee


Show Director and Juror Started an annual fine art and craft show; recruited up
to 35 artists to participate each year; created applications; managed budget, including
collecting booth fees and securing local business sponsorships; planned opening
receptions; promoted show, including designing and mailing postcards, placing ads,
designing and distributing signage, and writing and distributing press releases; organized
art demonstrations, childrens art activities and contests, and a silent auction to benefit
Alzheimers Tennessee; developed the show site layout and coordinated booth
assignments; secured jurors, volunteers, and cash prizes for artist awards.

2014 ART FAIR KMA 2014 Knoxville Museum of Art and Foothills Craft Guild Knoxville, TN
Artist Coordinator, Juror, and Show Manager Recruited more than 50 local
professional artists in just four months to take part in a fine arts and craft show at the
Knoxville Museum of Art; this was a paid position that required administrative,
marketing, and management skills. I brought in The Foothills Craft Guild as a partner and
served as a liaison between the president/members of the Guild of the Knoxville Museum
of Art and the president/members of the Foothills Craft Guild to produce the show.
Additionally, I designed and mailed call to artist postcards, devised and distributed
artist applications, served as the artists liaison throughout the show process, developed
the show site layout, and coordinated booth assignments. I also met with the museum
staff and board members and proposed advertising strategies to promote the show.

2012-2015 Foothills Craft Guild Knoxville, Tennessee


Juror Served as professional juror for prospective new members of the Foothills Craft
Guild, a regional nonprofit association of more than 275 juried craft artisans.
Additionally, in 2012, 2014, and 2015, I also served as a juror for a Foothills Craft Guild-
sponsored high school art contest.

Studio and Production Potter Manage a professional pottery business (retail and
wholesale) with sales in local, regional, and national markets; develop sculptural and
functional pottery lines; produce, exhibit, and sell hand-built and wheel-thrown pottery;
participate in juried shows and competitions; design and distribute marketing materials
via direct mailings, email newsletters, social media platforms, and stories in local media
outlets.

2010-present Terra Madre: Women in Clay Knoxville, Tennessee


Marketing and Promotion Committee Leader Chair the marketing committee
for a local juried womens pottery group; proposed and co-organized the groups first
Holiday Show and Sale; organized group shows at the District Gallery in Bearden; write
and distribute press releases for group shows, which has resulted in several articles in the
Knoxville News Sentinel, Metro Pulse, Farragut Press, and Shopper News, as well as
coverage on WUOT and WBIR; designed and coordinated mailing of postcards and flyers
for some Terra Madre events.

2016-2017 The Art Market Gallery Knoxville, Tennessee Featured Artist Scheduler
Scheduled monthly 2D and 3D featured artist exhibits for local cooperative art gallery
with over 60 members; sent out email reminders about set up and follow through.
2007-2014 The Art Market Gallery Knoxville, Tennessee
Scheduler Paid position that required coordinating with more than 60 members of
an artists cooperative gallery to ensure sufficient staffing for daily operations and
monthly First Friday events; maintained digital work calendar; regularly emailed and
called artists with reminders, scheduled extra workers for special events, and generally
kept gallery running and staffed.

1981-1989 Winn Dixie Advertising Department Louisville, Kentucky


Art Production Supervisor and Graphic Artist Promoted from graphic artist to
management for one of the largest retail food corporations in the southern US; developed
conceptual designs of promotional sign materials, supervised operations, and maintained
a quality in-house print production program; ordered supplies for the department,
communicated with vendors and store managers, and supervised sign department
employees.

2015-2016 Received a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission and Tennessee Craft to serve as
a Master in the Master Apprentice Arts Program (MAAP), which is designed to encourage
and invest in the continuation, advancement and creation of Tennessee craft by
recognizing the role of the master craft artist and apprentice relationship as a way to
preserve the states cultural heritage

2014 First Place Award of Distinction at the Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival in conjunction with
the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Juror: Liza Zenni
