1. Project Title

A Study on different state of art techniques use in diagnosis of Brain Tumor using DIP

2. Project Summary

Brain tumor is the most commonly occurring malignancy among human beings. A tumor is a mass of
tissue that grows out of control of the normal forces that regulates growth. So, in order to diagnose the
brain tumor two techniques are commonly used: Biopsy or Imaging. Imaging comprises of many
different types of methods likes CT scans, X-Ray and MRI. These techniques allow us to identify
even the smallest abnormalities in the human body. The primary goal of medical imaging is to extract
meaningful and accurate information from these images with the least error possible. Out of the
various types of medical imaging processes available to us, MRI is the most reliable and safe. MRI
Imaging plays an important role in brain tumor for analysis, diagnosis and treatment planning. Its
helpful to doctor for determine the previous steps of brain tumor. Brain tumor detections are using
MRI images is a challenging task; include various steps like preprocessing, feature extraction,
segmentation and classification. Segmentation plays very important role in medical imaging. Some
image Segmentation techniques that currently implemented for brain tumor detection are: Edge based,
Region based or pixel based techniques. Some researchers used Neural Network with Digital Image
Processing (DIP) for better results. In this paper is going to discuss different state of art techniques
used in detection of Brain tumor using DIP. [1][2][3][4][5][6]
