Dear Minister,

Re: City of Peterborough Parkway Corridor Class Environmental Assessment

I would like thank you and your Ministry staff for the time spent with me and staff from our Utility Services
Department. We appreciate how busy your office must be and are grateful for the time afforded to the City of
Peterborough and in particular the Parkway project.

I wanted to assure you that the City has no concerns with the length of time your staff and the previous
Ministers Office took to issue the Ministers Order. After all, City staff also spent many, many hours
considering, documenting and responding to each issue raised in the Part II Order requests. We understand
Minister Leals desire to address the MOECCs review time; however our primary focus was to have our
concerns about the ability of the City to move forward with a reasonable and cost effective method to address
our immediate needs heard by yourself and Premier Wynne.

We appreciate the offer of your Ministry to assist and guide the City in development of scoped terms of
reference for individual environmental assessments moving forward so that we may be able to proceed with
the most critical aspects of the project. City staff will be in contact with Ms. ONeill to follow up on this offer
in the near future.
