Comments: Paige, you used positive reinforcement throughout the lesson, mostly in the forms of simple verbal
acknowledgments (good job, great, etc.) or paraphrasing student content (restating students volunteered answers) to clarify
for the entire class and to demonstrate listening. Your pacing contributed to your management as well- even on the carpet,
students didnt really have time to get off-task.

Comments: This Social Studies/Arts Integration lesson connected to second grade standards. This lesson was an effective
introduction to some aspects of culture that will come up later in the quarter. I liked the use of colors and their meanings;
this was interesting information to share.

Comments: You called on a variety of students and made sure all ideas were shared. You built some opportunities for
student collaboration into the lesson, which contributed to their enjoyment.

Comments: When released to the carpet, students understood your expectations for their behavior (through verbal
reinforcement and the use of Dojos) and for their work.

task and accountable to each other contributed to a
positive classroom climate and each group member feeling
valued.
