General Procedures

A. Beginning of period- At the beginning of the period, students will be in their seats with their

required materials for the period out on their desks.

1. Attendance check-I will take attendance once the bell rings.

2. Previously absent students- Previously absent students will go to the absent folder for the day

of the week they were absent and grab materials inside. If they have questions, they will be

encouraged to ask a fellow student or ask me after class, during lunch, or email me.

3. Tardy students- Students who are tardy will quietly sit in their seat, and get out their materials

for class.

10% reduction in points. After 5 days late, it will not be accepted.

will be allowed to talk amongst one another when they are doing classwork, so long as it is

A. Student attention- Students will respect those who are speaking (teacher or fellow student) by

giving their full attention.

B. Student participation- Students are expected to actively engage and participate in classroom

discussions. This does not mean specifically answering questions out loud, as I will be able to

tell if a student is engaged even if they dont verbally participate.

C. Seat-work procedures- Students will participate respectfully when working on class

assignments in their seat. Once finished with all work for this class, they are encouraged to be

productive for other classes.

1. Talk among students- Students can talk among each other when working in groups only about

their assignment. Once students are done with their classwork, they can choose to talk to other

students who are also done with classwork.

they raise their hand.

3. Out of seat- Students must have a productive purpose for being out of their seat in class.

Student Group Work

A. Use of materials and supplies- Students will ask others if they need to use their supplies in

group work. Otherwise, students will come prepared to class with their contributing materials

and supplies.

B. Assignment of students to groups- Students will be allowed to pick their own groups so long

as they stay productive. I reserve the right to change up the groups as I see fit.

C. Student participation and behavior- Students are expected to actively engage in their group

work, and divide the work equally. By failing to do so, the group will not be allowed to work

together on future assignments.

behavior especially if we are having a lockdown drill. They will stay off of their phones

and remain attentive to their surroundings.

B. Split lunch- Students will count their lunch as a break and be even more focused when

class resumes. Students may leave their belongings in the classroom while they go to

lunch if they choose to do so.
