INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT(30%)

Section 26 of the Contracts Act 1950 states that Any agreement without
consideration is void.

Discuss the statement above. In your discussion, include information about

principles of consideration, exceptions found in Section 26 as well as any other
relevant points. Illustrate your answer with case laws and Contracts Act 1950.

1. The work needs to be submitted through turnitin by the 10/11/2017. A hardcopy of the assignment
along with the turnitin report must also be handed in. Remember, turnitin cannot exceed 25%.

4. The assignment should be written with 1.5 paragraph spacing, Times New Roman font style
and font size 12.
5. There should be a page number at the bottom of each page to ensure that no pages are missing.
6. Research must be done and all the references must be appropriately acknowledged in the text
(with the authors name and page number of the reference cited) and on a separate reference page
(with a complete citation of each reference). The only referencing acceptable is HARVARD
REFERENCING.
7. You are expected to use reputable references. Using unverified references such as blogs or
Wikipedia will result in a deduction of marks.
8. The assignment must be written using Malaysian law.
9. The marks are based on the following issues including :
(i) how thorough is the discussion,
(ii) the points or arguments made in terms of its -
(a)relevance (b)logic, (c)organisation (d)clarity (e) number,
(iii) evidence of extensive research,
(iv) how well supported is the conclusion,
(v) personal analysis as indicated by -
(a) whether the material obtained through research is extensively reproduced in
its original form or paraphrased, and
(b) relevant personal opinions or comments, and
(vi) how well is the question answered in an overall & wholesome approach
