1 LICENSING INSTRUCTION

You need free license file to run simulations with Quartus II 7.1.

1. Go to https://www.altera.com/mal-all/mal-signin.html
2. Register new myAltera Account.
3. Log in and go to page:
https://www.altera.com/f/download/licensing/lic-q2web.html
4. Enter your NIC number (also called MAC address) and check "Academic". How to
obtain NIC number in Windows: http://support.egr.unlv.edu/support_tut_win7_info.html
5. Now you should receive (e-mail) license file for Quartus II with instructions how to
install it (just save the *.dat file).
6. Download Quartus II 7.1 FREE from our website:
https://faculty.unlv.edu/eelabs/soft/71_quartus_free.exe
7. Install and run the application.
8. Choose: "Specify valid license file" and press OK.
9. Choose file from your e-mail and press OK.
