THE DUTIES OF THE CHIEFENGINEER

Chief engineer Is responsible to the master for the propulsion machinery of the
vessel and its operation, organizational maintenance and repair for all machinery
aboard the vessel.
He Is responsible for the requisitioning and storage of an adequate stock of tools,
repair parts, and materials for machinery operation and maintenance. He maintains
records of repair parts showing the quantity of parts authorized on hand, and
specifications for repairs beyond the capabilities of his department. He maintains a
record of all operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment In the engine log book
and the vessel logbook. With the aid of his engine men, he stands a watch at the
engine control room while under way and operates the anchor winch and ramps when
beach.

pekerjaan atau kejadian dilaksanakan I terjadi

Contoh lain : I waited until he arrived.
