Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

Information Sessions for the 2018 Tax Season

DATES: Thursday, November 30

Thursday, December 7
TIME: 4:30 p.m. (both sessions)
LOCATION: FCBE 128 (both sessions)

Every tax season, America's hardest-working families rely on their tax refund to support their children
by helping to pay down debts and put food on the table. Unfortunately, they face exorbitant, negligent, and
sometimes fraudulent preparers that cost our communities millions in fees. SaveFirst provides free income
tax preparation services through the VITA program.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally
make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance
in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation
with electronic filing to qualified individuals.

BENEFITS: Community service, IRS certification, good addition to your resume,

free training, potential internships available, learn how to do your own taxes
REQUIREMENTS: Positive attitude, willingness to learn, attendance at ALL
training sessions in early January
