Annette Perkett
Hawai`i State Judiciary
Second Circuit Court
2145 Main Street
Wailuku, HI 96793

Dear Mrs. Perkett,

I have been made aware that you are in continuous recruitment for the Clerk III position.
This information was brought to my attention by Grace Marzan, your supervisor for the Hawai`I
State Judiciary in the city of Lahaina. I worked part time for the Second Circuit Court for a year
during my first year out of college and am determined to obtain an interview with you for a full-
time position. I applied for this position in the spring of 2016 and was denied because of lack of
experience and qualifications. Since then I have progressed my studies at Arizona State
University, pursued civic and professional positions to improve my computer literacy, English,
and arithmetic, and overall competency to lead others and myself making me a hopeful candidate
for your Clerk III position.

I am a creative thinker, hard worker, and I am persistent with problem solving. In the
course of this year I have learned to manage my time well with school, three jobs, and my role as
a public figure, be accountable to my commitments as Miss Maui and in my personal life, and be
efficient at my priorities to accomplish multiple tasks at work and school done to standard and
the best of my ability. I am enthusiastic about obtaining this position because I am sure I would
learn a breadth of information valuable to me in my pursuit of a career as a Family Court Judge. I
believe that you will find a valuable employee in me because what I learn from you will not be
limited to the position I obtain from you at the moment; I am to learn these skills and master
them to better serve our community and Judiciary as a Family Court Judge. Aside from all of
that, I can bring to your team an eagerness to maintain and improve existing systems and
relationships within your office and strong motivation to work at my best consistently.

I noticed that you require two years of General Clerical experience and arithmetic course
at a collegiate level. As listed on my rsum, I performed clerical work beyond the basic tasks of
filing documents and stapling papers in your office at the Wailuku Court House as the youngest
ever and only employed Student Helper. My duties included and were not limited to
commencing and completing major priority tasks such as preparing boxes of old case for purging
on another island and creating official inventory of the court house files. This displays that I
maintain the mental capacity to think and act quickly as is a requirement listed for this position. I
can help your organization simply by saving you time to train another newbie because I already
possess the knowledge necessary for an entry level employee.
I have enclosed my resume with descriptions of my qualifications. If you have any
questions or would like me to clarify any information, I welcome you to reach me at my email
address: salcedocasey@gmail.com or my personal phone (808) 495-5015. I will also be
contacting you on October 20th to discuss my resume and application. I look forward to seeing
you soon. Thank you so much for your attention.

Sincerely,

Casey Nicole Sales-Salcedo
