In this insightful speaking activity, students ask personal information questions. The activity
gives students practice at asking Wh-questions to find out information about their partner.
Students also practice using reported speech when giving feedback to the class. This activity
works well with older students.

Before class, make one copy of the worksheet for each student.

Divide the class into pairs and give each student a copy of the worksheet.

Go through the questions the students will need to ask in order to complete the form on the
worksheet.

Students then take it in turns to ask questions and fill in the form, because the questions are
in-depth, it is important to tell the class that they dont have to answer any questions they
find too personal.

Afterwards, review reported speech with the class and then ask pairs of students to come to
the front and tell the class a few things about their partner.

Alternatively, students find a new partner and tell him or her one or two things about the
person they interviewed.
