After the Task Reflection
In last semester in 25 of February, I was teaching in Albaraa Bin Azeb school which is located in Aljulan area. It is
boys school from grade one to grade five. I took grade one students section four. I was teaching them a new lesson
about letter J. The boys were very noisy at first observation for me and I cant manage them at first. Because
that the big problem with me was classroom management. After that, I thought about many management strategies
to keep the boys listen to me and dont interrupt the lesson. I used three strategies to manage the classroom.
Firstly, I used green and black points for an individual student in the class. If they were active with me during the
class, I gave them green points, and if they were making noise, I gave them black points. The second strategy was
group points. I named each group name of the color (green, yellow, red, blue). If the group active with me I will give
the group two points and if they were noisy I removed points for the groups points. The last strategy was rewards
and punishments. At the end of the class, I gave the quietest group rewards and noisy group the punishment.
Examples of punishments were they dont have a lunch break or give students work to do in the break. Also, tell the
principal if they make a big problem. using rewards and punishment in controlling behavior and motivating students
is the best way to manage the students in the classroom. This study explores the use of extrinsic rewards and
punishment by prekindergarten to let the students know the roles of the class as a student in early years. The
purpose of the strategy was to determine the most common motivational practices and classroom management
strategies being used by prekindergarten teachers(Kotaman, 2017).
