Personal Learning Aims:

-Subtract one-digit whole numbers by using number line.
-Recognize basic definitions of subtraction such as, minus, take away, how many more,

I will show them flashcards with the signs of + , + and = and I will ask them questions to check their
prior knowledge. Then I will tell them why and how we use them.
I play with them a game which aid the information to be drilled in their minds.
The game is when I say the word addition they have to close their hands together which mean in
addition we ad things together, while when I say the word subtraction they open their hands
which mean we take things away.

I will take 3 students from 2 groups. The first
student will throw the bowling ball, the second in this activity the students will learn how to

questions, after that they will answer the rest of
the questions by themselves by using the small
number lines. This will aid me to know if they
understand the lesson or no.

I will give each group a ball and inside the ball there is a question. I will give them 2 minutes to

Teaching Strategies Learning by fun - the students were super
modeling excited because they played

- I saw a girl who was
misbehaving set near a good
behaving student so I praised
the good student then
immediately she sat correctly
and behaved well in order to
get a praise.
Transitions bell - when I want to grab their
attention and move to next
activity I ring the bell which is
really useful and helpful to save
time instead of shouting.

Assessment Strategies Observe & record performance. - while the students were
homework working on the book questions
I was walking around them and
check how they doing and
assist who need help.

the purpose of this lesson is to teach them what subtraction mean and who to use the number
line in subtraction.
In my next lessons I will try to create in- pairs activity. Because sometimes in the group activities
some students do nothing. And I will try I will decrease the amount of instruction to give the
student the opportunity to discover what to do and they will ask me if they have a question so I
don't have to say every single thing to them. I think its hard for grade one but I will try.
