Pilot Operated, Balanced Poppet Relief valves can be thought of as a hybrid between a direct
acting relief and a pilot operated, balanced piston relief valve.

Pilot operated, balanced poppet relief valves are similar to other

pilot operated relief valves with several key benefits. They can
be thought of as a hybrid between a direct acting relief and
a pilot operated, balanced piston relief valve. They have the
low leakage poppet design of a direct acting relief valve with
adjustability under pressure and low pressure override of a pilot
operated, balanced piston relief valve.
