Definition and concept of Adab

The word "manners" are only formed by four letters merupakansalah an Arabic term
which means customs. This word refers to a habit, ethics, patterns of behavior that are
considered as a model. During the first two centuries after the emergence of Islam,
the term adab ethical implications and social significance. Ahmad Fauzi said one of
the definitions of the civilized behavior as well as the smooth-spoken (politely), tact,
manners, politeness. Definition given is very easy and concise, but if examined then it
is the words of profound connotation.

Custom in many cultures other than the culture of Islam is largely determined by
local conditions and therefore subject to changes that occur in such conditions.
According W.G. Summer, of the various needs that arise repeatedly at a certain time
of individual growth habits and customs of the group. But the habits that emerge are
the consequences that arise unconsciously, and are not expected to be used or not
planned. Morals and manners of Islam is not to be "involuntarily" as in the definition
above. Manners and customs of Islam is derived from two primary sources of Islam,
namely the Qur'an and the Sunnah, the deeds and words of the Prophet and his orders
are not immediately obvious that the Islamic morality is based on God's revelation.
Thus adab means something good attitude of these things. Plato in Rosenthal (1992)
states says:
"Adab goal is to give birth to a good man and was able to stop myself deliciously
than physical and material, and who demonstrate emotional stability on happy faces
and sad and all other events, and also remain in a state that does not diganggui and
inactive, except when the cause and thought indicates a desire or purpose to the action
".
Islamic thinker, Ibn 'Abd-Rabbih in Rosenthal (1992) asserts that, overall adab
contains all aspects of human behavior. The concept, linking the whole civilized
behavior, actions and human treatment. This reinforces the concept of adab discussed
again. This whole conversation about manners finally brings us to the need to
understand the relationship between adab with the medical profession "by accident" a
Muslim.

Add a caption
As a servant of God, a Muslim doctor must have a purpose in life: "Hasanah fid-
dunya and hasanah fil-akhirah". He merely serve Allah (Sura. Al-An'am: 112) by
abstaining from any ban (QS. Al Imran: 110) and comply with all the orders of Allah,
His Messengers and Ulil Amri. A Muslim doctor should also be able to treat physical
illness, spiritual, and social disruption in the Islamic faith and his patients.
Ethics / adab that must be owned by a Muslim doctor according to Zuhair Ahmad al-
Sibai and Muhmmad Ali al-Bar in his Al-Thabib, Adabuhu wa Fiqhuh (Doctors,
Medical Ethics and Jurisprudence), among others, argued that Muslim doctors must
be convinced to honor the profession , purify appetite, deeper knowledge under their
control, using the scientific method in thinking, compassion, true and honest, humble,
unpretentious, and introspective.
A Muslim doctor should be able to hold a community approach. Ill patients are social
creatures that are part of a community hospital. Therefore, a Muslim doctor should
not just look at someone with the micro (individual), but also have to look at the
macro scale (remember the concept biopsikososiokultural and relegius).
A Muslim physician must be aware and realizing that treating the sick because of
God, is a charity that is very high in value. As such, he has been carrying out
propagation of Islam, that it is Allah that decreases the disease and he is also a
lowering medicine. Doctors can only identify the type of illness and write a
prescription, but only step that the God who heals. A Muslim doctor removes the
assumption that he was downloading yembuhkan patients.
Thus, a Muslim doctor must realize that he is the Caliph of Allah in the treatment
always be polite to all his patients and always pray that God would provide relief to
the patient at hand.
Although many writers, pious Muslims and medical experts expressed the
characteristics or traits Muslim doctor, but until now there has been no agreement on
