CONCLUSIONS

Renewable energy sources can help in satisfying the needs of our country. The

depletion of the worlds fossil fuel reserve may be minimized by using these renewable

energy sources. These sources are reliable and friendly because it has no upper limit

for its supply. As can be seen from the data gathered, there is an increase in the

countrys use of renewable energy, which is a good sign. This proves again that the

country is one of the leading countries in using renewable energy. Government policies

will help a lot in development and utilization of renewable energy resources if properly

implemented. These policies help harness and utilize renewable enrgy, which comprises

an important component of the governments strategy to provide energy suppy to the

country.

With the energy crisis, upon us, switching to renewable energy would be best for

the country knowing that prices of these imported of non-renewable energy sources

(e.g. coal, petroleum, natural gas) would continue to go up. The technology in this field

and energy management systems should be improved. The country is experiencing the

use of these renewable energy sources; hydropower, geothermal, wind, solar and

biomass. Because of the lesser environmental effects of power generation using

renewable energy it is preferable than power generation using non-renewable energy.

The Philippines power generation using renewable energy will increase for the

years to come. Hydro power plant will increase linearly for the years to come.

Geothermal power plant will remain with its current power generation range per year.

Other renewable energy (e.g. wind, solar, biomass) will increase exponentially or

substantially for the years to come. This is a positive sign for the environment.
